I believe you mean negative addiction. Well, it takes the grace of God to get over it.

All addictions are spiritual problems (bonds), because all addictions affect the addicts spiritually. They are high way to death. Psychology Today states that “in the United States, addiction is often described as a spiritual, physical and emotional problem,” and while they didn’t necessarily agree with that notion completely, other research might suggest that addiction is a disconnection from spirituality among many other causes.

Addiction and spirituality go hand-in-hand as we notice the contrast of how spirituality plays a role in both addiction and recovery. In active addiction, there is typically an absence of connection to spirit, what ever that may look like to the user. In recovery, a spiritual practice is absolutely essential and often becomes the backbone of staying sober for many.

Addiction can be stop in two ways: One, through deliverance by an anointed man of God; or two the Holy Spirit, the giver of life that helps one to refrain from any addiction. It is not by resolution. And formal will require the later, the Holy Spirit. If He is not present to direct and protect, one may disconnect his/herself from all that links him to the additions, delete his/partners in crime numbers, but may still go and get connected with same afterwards.
I mean, the betting, smoking, alcoholism, sex addiction by singles, even for the married ones, e.t.c.

So then, how do you maintain your relationship with the giver of life?

Firstly, you need to have faith that God, that he can help you to stop the addiction. That is, you need to believe in God the father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. That the father is the creator, the Son is the Word and the redeemer which redeemed the world, and which is about to redeem you, the Holy Spirit is the one who guides you, and has worked through the prophets.

Secondly, Disconnect yourself from all that link you to the addition. Delete accounts, phone numbers and cut relationships where necessary.

Thirdly, if you are just believing, go to any sound Bible believing Church, make your confession and confess your new belief and the sin. And if you are a believer already, renew your belief and confess your sin to your authority to obtain grace.

Fourthly, fast (fasting, alms giving and prayers) for some numbers of days as the spirit directs, but not less than 3 days or 5 days. While studying, standing and believing in the word of God.

Fifthly, Force yourself to pray consistently (devotion) for months afterwards, while believing in God for deliverance.

Lastly, remember and continue to rebuke the devil whenever the thoughts and hunger to go back to your addiction comes again.
