Why is NNPC lying? If diesel, kerosene and even gas are selling above N1,000 per litre or kg for gas, how is petrol N600? If the Naira was $1 to N600, the price could be around n600. NNPC should stop the lying 2 Likes |

benitwater:Mr Patriot, righteousness exalts a nation. How can the government be lying to her citizens? And if there is no subsidy, NNPC should lead other marketers to where they are importing fuel at that rate. |

benitwater:It is just so frustrating that people are making a mammoth out of this, it is just like some set of people want petrol to be sold at 1200 just to make some stupid point at the expense of people who rely on petrol, and are already on the edge with the current price. Even if subsidy is been paid then so be it. 1 Like |

UncleKoboko: I'm curious what Nairalanders have the bigger problm with. Is it the lie or the fact that there is still subsidy. If it is truely a lie, how does it benefit you if they tell the 'truth' that their is subsidy. If N600 petrol is indeed a subsidized price, are you then happier to pay an unsubsidized price of N900? By the way if diesel is N1080 using $/N1250, shouldn't NNPC's petrol be cheaper at $/N890? Of Course NNPC operates at the offical rate, not black market. Maybe not as cheap as N600, but certainly not N1200. Cos i've not seen any country I have travelled to, where petrol was more expensive than diesel.

zombieHUNTER: All what you said is complete utter nonsense. You are a tribalist and therefore think people vote purely on tribal emotions. You can't use religion to divide Yoruba. Yoruba Muslims are quite secular and I have never heard of a Yoruba Muslim killing his or her child because they either left Islam or married a Christian. The worst they can do is to disown the child or send the child packing. They drink alcohol and marry Christians. Fashola's father is a Muslim and his mother a Christian. Tinubu who is Muslim is married to a Remi Tinubu, a pastor. Wizkid's father is a Muslim, and mother, Christian. Such marriages are very common in amongst Yoruba.. During the 2011 elections, please explain to me why Jonathan won in all South West votes despite Nuhu Ribadu, the ACN candidate was a Muslim? Tinubu urged them to vote for Ribadu but they preferred Jonathan. The only Southwest state Jonathan lost was Osun and that it was because Aregbesola who was the state governor then was simply too powerful. Yorubas are rarely influenced by religion when it comes to voting. 1 Like |
