Forget that, Future generations will even borrow for the far future generation, or sell them off before they were born. Not only you get scuchy for head.

Debt they know nothing about.

Even most of us around did not even benefit from the loan.

This is akin to what the bible described as the fathers eating soar grapes and the children teeth set on edge.

It's normal.

If children inherit riches from their parents. They know nothing about it too.

I was enjoying his talk until I read Pastor Oyakhilome …

Mstheeeeeeew a pastor that divorced his wife against his Christian faith, how is that a good example of a good leader

Lol! Funny man. Because Oyakhilome's wife divorced him (you are wrong...he did not divorce her), you tossed away the article. Lol. You must have "beef" with him. I don't like that pastor as I don't see anything good in his preachings, but "guy", learn how to be objective when dealing with people. If you are a judge, you will definitely be a very bad one. grin

What has being divorced got to do with telling the real truth about the agonies coming generations will face? Guy! Ha ba! Religion again? See eh! Make una no burn Naija with religion na. What is this mess for goodness sake? Chai!

Apc is evil. They brought this upon the country. I don't blame them but the mumu supporters.

Because we are a resource dependent nation.

We did not take the long road to becoming an industrial nation, who would have exported industrial goods, and have been able to set prices for those goods. We became an oil dependent nation, meaning our revenue is dependent on how high the oil price is . Most of the time, it is too low for us to surivive

So, we become dependent on loans. Corruption makes the matter worse.

I believe in subsidy removal on power and petrol because at the end of the day, if both sectors can make a profit, they can build enough infrastructure to provide power to our industrial sector, which would enable it to hopefully use our resources to make things that can be exported, which would EARN US MORE REVENUE.

But sadly, a dream

The national debt is inclusive of debt owed by sub national entities. This year alone, Abia state planned to borrow N200b local debt and N200 foreign debt. That makes it N400b debt this year alone. The state has about N200b debt already from previous administration and the projected revenue is less than N150b.

So you see, Buhari and Tinubu are not the only problem. Governors like Alex Otti, Mbah of Enugu etc with outrageous budget deficit plan are part of the problem.

The SE is really a threat to you people.. The only way you can rationalize or justify anything now is to compare with SE.. Are they really that a threat to you guys... Omo igbos dey live rent free for una head sha

The children will pay for the sins of their fathers

Their fathers used tribalism, and religion to vote in useless governments

Same sin some children are already paying by sitting at home every Monday in some part of the county.

Their own parents that vote in competence are enjoying their state I guess.

Who borrowed 23trn from CBN and who has borrowed 2trn from same CBN in 6 months since you're so worried about 400bn?
How much is Lagos debt alone?
How come you have been very comfortable with these humongous debts but suddenly see the light in 400bn Abia debts?

States borrow because the alternative is massive taxation.

Which would not work in Nigeria, (even though it is a good idea) because most people are too poor to pay taxes.

Attracting investment does not work, because

1.Low subsidised prices for power means that capacity to provide power is too weak

2.Poor tax revenue means poor revenue to build things like roads, and even intra-state railways.

So, the alternative to supplement the low oil revenue is borrowing. (Resource control would only benefit a few states). Otherwise, mass taxation, which would lead to Aba women's revolution. (Not riot, revolution).

Coming generations can't pay Nigeria's debt, Sir.

They can never afford it.

The hole your generation has dug this nation into is a bottomless one... You all have sold the future of generations unborn.

Only a merciful debt forgiveness by the creditors will save the future generations.

That's why every wise and wealthy Nigerian is already securing the futures of his or her children and children's children in developed nations without the restrictions to growth burying this nation into oblivion.

So anybody that criticizes the sitting Government for their insensitivity and shortcomings is an Obidient?? Na your type follow contribute to the condition of our country
Zico5:
Instead of these obidients to contribute meaningfully to any political discussion, they will deviate to Tinubu issue. I don't know if many of them are just shallow in thinking or they think all these attacks up and down have meaning to anybody. They fail to realise that the more they attack Tinubu, the more we tend to move closer to him. All the state of federation are borrowing money, federal government inclusive. The debt is geographically distributed. What these people are using all the borrowing money for should be our center point.

You can't blame Obidients for moving closer to Tinubu while he's destroying the economy. That's a silly thing to say. It's like saying you saw your enemy coming and you ran inside a burning building. Are you not mad?

I give baba A1 on this debt relief. I challenge the current government to seek for such. The sad reality of this debt is that most is stolen and stashed underground, while they go about a fresh stealing rendezvous.

Petrol is not a sector. It's a part of the oil and gas sector. Only Petrol is subsidised out of all other activities in the sector. Yet in the upstream, IOCs are divesting away from onshore activities. Is that also due to subsidy?
Your obsession with subsidy removal is not based on any cogent, verifiable logic other than to absolve your paymasters of blame in their mismanagement of the nation's economy
