The English dictionary, among many definitions, define a treasure as "A person or thing considered to be precious or valued highly."
Did you notice the word consider in that definition? Go back and read it again.
Now the word consider is a transitive verb: meaning it is relative to who or what is doing the consideration.
Put somewhat differently in the light of our discuss: a treasure is highly valued not to itself but to the person who finds it and deemed it fit as something to be greatly prized.

Every good treasure is never exposed, but hidden from the untrained eyes. For instance, gold is hidden within the rocks beneath earth crust. Diamond is hidden; Petroleum is hidden etc.

The Lord Jesus likened the kingdom of heaven to a treasure hidden when he says:
Matthew 13:44
44. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

What am I getting to? In the Bible, every member of the body of Christ is and has a hidden treasure.

Genesis 24:16&63-67
16. And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.
63. And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming.
64. And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she lighted off the camel.

65. For she had said unto the servant, What man is this that walketh in the field to meet us? And the servant had said, it is my master: therefore she took a veil, and covered herself.
66. And the servant told Isaac all things that he had done.
67. And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her: and Isaac was comforted after his mother's death.

Now I want you to notice something here, in verse 65 of that texts, the Bible says, "... She [Rebekah, the treasure] took a veil, and covered herself."
The question is why did Rebekah cover herself with a vail? You see, like we'd earlier stated in the beginning of this discuss that "Every good treasure is never exposed but hidden..."
A treasure is not valued unto itself, but unto its beholder. Put slightly differently, Rebekah covered herself in a veil because of the glory Isaac should behold when he unveils the treasure hidden therein. "And the damsel was very fair to look upon."

In the last text, Isaac is likened to the Lord Jesus Christ, that servant Eliezer is likened unto the Holy Spirit, and Rebekah is likened unto the church.
Noticed in that text that Eliezer called Isaac my master: "What man is this that walketh in the field to meet us? And the servant had said, it is my master". And Eliezer was the one who brought Rebekah unto Isaac. Similarly, the Lord Jesus is the Master, who has sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in every member of the church, his bride, that the church be united in one body, the Lord Jesus Christ as Rebekah became one with Isaac.

Moreover, as Rebekah hid herself in a veil, so every member of the body of Christ has this treasure hidden in earthen vessels.
2 Corinthians 4:7
7. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

Notice that text says, "That the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us." In other words, we're not a treasure unto ourselves, but a treasure unto Jesus Christ, the beholder.

You see, when you and I understands that we are, and have a treasure of inestimable value, the Holy Spirit, within us, we would lift up our heads, get off our high horse, and bring many to God. "And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she lighted off the camel."
We're all treasures in the eyes of our Lord Jesus Christ. And every treasure is meant to profit its owner as it is written: "She became his wife; and he loved her: and Isaac was comforted..."

As members of the body of Christ, the church, we are meant to be the fullness of Christ on earth. Using our inherent gifts to bring many to the Kingdom of God. "Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all" (Ephesians 1:23).

So ask yourself the question, what have I done for Jesus today?
