You can't blame govt for this. A normal thinking person won't throw dirts on the rail track. Nigerians are not just dirty but must of us don't have simple hygiene sense.

I guess Lagos is too overpopulated.

Eko gbole, o gbole.

They need to start deporting people now especially those who Constitute nuisance there.
on a more serious note, the internal migration to Lagos is ridiculous.

Other states need to start holding their governors accountable so they can enjoy what they are rushing to Lagos to enjoy or federal government should declare special status for Lagos at these point before they bring Lagos to it's knees.

The useless LASG won't see these areas...it is Alaba market that they have muscle to go and demolish because of "environmental issues".

Useless beings.

Toluwalope exonerating the government of their responsibility while their own activities choking and killing them. If the government had done the needful by allowing laws to take its course, no one born of a woman will be attempted to dump refuse any undesignated area, let alone rail line. Let the government apply the law on environment and see how people will adjust to doing the right thing.
Aremu even try to be factual but the question is, who and who empowered these hoodlums he complained about. The government agents are the ones empowering them and that is why it seems difficult to eradicate them. These hoodlums have become a cartilaginous on their throats. Are the government agents ready to do the needful? No.

But we can still control things if we are not much
It is not about population, it is about the Nigeria character.
They do this same nonsense in other states/cities too that are far less populated.
They do it in Benin, Warri, Yenagoa, Portharcourt etc

Nice to hear.

The people must be forced to be responsible for their local environment.

The Lagos State Government on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 terminated the monthly environmental sanitation exercise which hitherto held for three hours on the last Saturday of every month.

The rested sanitation exercise in Lagos held on the last Saturday of every month and restricted movement for three hours

A main feature of the clean-up programme was that it restricted movement in Nigeria’s main commercial hub for the three hours (7am-10am) that it lasted.

The government, in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, said the decision to cancel the monthly exercise followed a resolution arrived at during Wednesday’s Executive Council meeting which approved the need for a robust review of the environmental laws and procedures in the state in order to meet the present day challenges and to promote a clean and healthy environment.

no Sir... We can't just take a look the country called Liberia...their population is relatively low and some states in Nigeria (such as Kano and Lagos) have more population than it but look at the mess they are doing ... They cannot take care of their resources for the betterment of the lives of their citizens
