Then why are Hausa not using the advantage of Abuja considering the fact that it’s close to the core North and most big men in the North have base in Abuja?

Why is Lagos the best in Entertainment, Fintech, Industry, Commerce, and etc when the tribes living in Abuja no matter how small they are can just use the opportunity in Abuja to make themselves reach the top?
The answer is simple: EDUCATION.

Hausas are not as educated as Yorubas to have the same influence in Abuja as Yorubas have the influence in Lagos.

You can't compare Lagos and Abuja. When Abuja was still a bush Lagos was a already a big city.

Or is Lagos not home to all anymore? The truth is you can’t compare the level of education in the western region to other parts of the country and this has only gotten to show you how Yorubas exposure to education has really help to advance our course. You have a point about Lagos but why is Lagos favoring only Yoruba women? You have other tribe women in Lagos and they all have equal right in private enterprise and personal excellence but yet they couldn’t overshadow Yoruba women.

However, that is not the main reason because even before Lagos was this big, Yoruba women have always dominated major sectors and markets. Thats why when you go about reading about first in any field, they are usually Yoruba women.

You people are dumb in this country. You don't read your history and don't know how the nation trade. Typically the western region have always engaged in banking and trade finance. Majority of the banking reforms the British made was carried out was in the west specifically lagos which was then the capital of the British empire in nigeria. The discovery of oil even deepened further. Which compelled many Yorubas to study banking and finance related subject.
Just like the east is known for it's manufacturing of goods, they literally engaged in handwork related field.
while the north is known for it's agriculture strength due to fertile lands and their farming skills to produce in large scale.
The south south during the British empire was known for fishery and timber strength till oil came and killed it off totally.
So all these unnecessary gaslighting is not needed, everyone have what they specialized in.

All those women bankers you just listed, where them dey live? Tiwa Savage, Tems, Ayra Starr, Yemi Alade, Davido, Wizkid , where them dey live?

Lagos, the former capital of Nigeria developed mainly with oil money from the Niger delta region.

Even after a SW man, Akinola Aguda, recommended that Lagos should stop to be the capital of Nigeria, too many southwesterners abandoned Lagos and moved to Abuja for civil service.
All federal government infrastructures in Lagos were abandoned and crumbled, as well as the social infrastructures of Lagos crumbling.
But too many people from the old southeast region doing business in Lagos remained in Lagos and contributed taxes to development of Lagos.
Today, the claim that Lagos must be city of Southwest people is ridiculous.

I think cos of Lagos, which gives Yoruba people a big advantage, just like USA leads the world cos of USA advantage. Other people from other regions should try and remove eye from Lagos and develop a Lagos in their own region to be able to compete fairly. Igbos and Benins are the only ones trying.
Not only because of Lagos, it is mainly because of Yoruba value for education at early life trigard by Awolowo era, we more elite ancestors will definitely produce More leaders.

Yes, a "SW man" like you call it, Akinola Aguda recommended the capital be moved from Lagos because over time, the coastal town of Lagos was growing rapidly leading to questions around the suitability of Lagos serving as both the FCT and that of Lagos, there were intolerable conditions of living and working, traffic, housing shortages, congestion, and lack of expansion, and even when the capital was moved, these problems still persists, and Lagos was becoming decrepit, but Lagos thrived and still thriving. Lagos became what you all envy today, because of the impeccable administration and effective Governance it has received from it's leaders. "Too many South Westerners" did not abandon Lagos because of civil service, only those who had employment there did, and the entire civil service didn't comprise of just Yorubas.

You said too many Igbos remained in Lagos, just like all tribes, people who had business remained and those who thought Lagos would totally fail especially when the capital was then moved also left, including IGBOS too. Let me tell you, Lagos has always been the commercial hub of Nigeria, with and without the people of the "South East" especially due to its close proximity to the Atlantic, Many great cities began as ports in the era when sailing ships were chief engines of global commerce. The South West Lagos is for it's South West people and blessed with an amazing geography, and excellent administrative leadership of the Yorubas. There's nothing ridiculous about that.

My friend keep quiet!

Yoruba dominate because most banking businesses are owned by the Yorubas and their HQs are in Lagos.

There is so much internal politics in banking, and it's beyond this beer parlour argument you're raising here.

Now learn!

Banks owned by the Hausa would have more of Hausas/Muslims as staff, eg Taj Bank, Jaiz Bank, Unity Bank Plc.. And would most likely have a Hausa as the MD.

Same with Igbo... Same with the Yoruba..

The only bank that that is owned by someone from a different ethnic group and is dominated by other tribes is Access Bank Plc.

Now how does Lagos favour these chaps....?

When the HQ is in Lagos, recruitment starts there, appraisal and promotion is done there, top management staff mostly work out of the HQ.

It's even worse than that... Read...

Do you even know that, most branches would wait for plain paper, biro, ink, etc to be airlifted from Lagos for branches in other regions despite the fact that these items can be sourced locally?

There are even instances where ATM engineers, Time Stamping Machines technicians, Vault Maintenance technicians etc are flown in from Lagos to repair and maintain banks equipment.

Even official vehicles are registered in Lagos, before moved to other regions for use.

It's the Lagos politics!

And that's the same reason Mobil is dominated by the Yoruba.

Yes. They have their operational Base in Akwa Ibom, and HQ in Lagos.
Thanks for the clarification

Look at how they attacking you, they don't have the decency to admit the glaring unfair advantage.

Truth is they are atleast 90% focused on the tribe agenda, not national agenda.

This is what is called ethnocentrism.

London is not described as city of English people. Develop more sense if you want one Nigeria. You can't have one Nigeria where non southwesterners cannot call Lagos their home nor participate in the politics and governance of Lagos State.

Keep your leprous fingers and mental delusions to your coevals and less enlightened airheads, the City of London is infact an English city, because the English people are an ethnic group who speak the same language, and share a common history and culture unlike here where we share nothing in that regard. The Pakistani immigrant you mentioned has never called it a no man's land, desecrated or try to bully the natives into a battle of supremacy in their own land, he infact has done the opposite by unveiling tough new rules designed to cut immigrant numbers in other to protect and preserve the city.

It is only an IBO man that wants to call Lagos home, that is the hegemonic toxic trait of an Ibo man, and Yorubas are definitely the wisers. Do you see other tribes ever making such silly hegemonic notions and statements, if your South East was as developed as Dubai as you all like to claim instead of the barren loft of unproductivity it is, you wouldn't be half bothered about the Yorubas or Lagos. So please, stop feeding your young ones with lies and revisionism because you covet a blessed city like Lagos that you desperately lack!

I am tired of them but i have to respond to them because there is a saying "if you repeat a lie multiple times then it would be seen as the truth".

For years they keep repeating the same lies and I noticed no Yoruba person or very few yoruba people was countering them and debunking their lies so I had to start debunking their lies and blackmail.

In bold. Glad that you are aware of the fact that your Yoruba share no common history and culture with rest of the ethnic and cultural groups in Nigeria. You never knew that nationhood naturally comes only to a country of people with common history and culture. Or are you people just waking up from slumber and realised the fact that commonly shared value systems are the bedrock of nationhood for a country? What are you people still waiting for before you declare your Oduduwa Republic of people with common history and culture? Waiting for when crude oil and gas deposits in the Niger delta region become irrelevant in global markets?

It's best to describe some of you people from the SW as passengers in a sinking ship who clutch tight to the ship because the ship is carrying valuables. Cheap cash from crude oil in the Niger delta region must not continue to govern your interest in a country of groups with different value systems. Venezuela, for example, is rich with crude oil but remains poor; because of bad politicians of Venezuela, same with you unintelligent, greedy, bad rulers of Nigeria who have ruled Nigeria from 1960 till today, and succeeded in ruling Nigeria with all its income from crude oil to become the official poverty capital of the world today.

Some of you southwesterners' later day attitude of segregation on
Lagos drives the hugest stumbling block against nationhood for the one Nigeria you crave. Lagos is former capital of Nigeria built with the natural resources of Nigeria, natural resources mostly from the Niger delta region. Move out from Lagos to the other places in the SW region, what you see is squalid cities and towns that are far behind modernity.

By the way, have you ever heard of any region in the UK where non indegenes are told point blank that they are strangers in the region; or that they, the non indegenes, should not participate in choice of political leaders in the region; the way some of you ignoramuses in the southwest region tell non Yorubas in Lagos? NB:

GENERALISATION. I am aware that not all Yorubas are ignoramuses like you group basking in the euphoria of Lagos this and Lagos that. Therefore, I wouldn't use the word, Yorubas, the silly way you used the word, Igbos.

It’s like you are confused and you haven’t said what I want you to say.

What you have on your land is yours. Whether landmass, ocean, Human Resources, peaceful environment, and etc.

So saying a Yoruba man succeeding is because of home advantage seems absurd to me because your home is what you make of it.

It’s just like Yoruba crying that the reason why Porthacourt is developed than Osun for example is because Rivers people have crude oil. How does that sound in your brain?

Or Yoruba should start crying that the reason Dubai is developed is because of their enormous crude.

Stop looking at other people land to reduce their worth. It’s not the Yoruba ancestors that says other underprivileged states should not cite their ancestral lands on places that can hasten development.

That is the truth!!!

If you have a large Gold reserve in your backyard and it makes you wealthy then it is your luck and it doesn't change the fact that the Gold reserves made you wealthy.

Yorubas are lucky that the commercial capital of Nigeria is in Lagos which got developed as a result of the early colonial influence, Government influence, and then investment inflows from foreign and local sources. They are reaping the benefits and it doesn't change the fact that Yorubas are benefiting from it. This is why Yorubas dominate certain areas like IT, Banking etc.
