Lagos state Printing Corporation holds maiden retirement ceremony for 17

The Lagos State Printing Corporation (LSPC) has honoured 17 of its retirees who retired between 2019 and December 2023 during the stewardship of Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Speaking during the celebration, the General Manager of LSPC, Mr Kolawole Pregrino, said that the maiden edition of the celebration of retirees of LSPC was due to the governor’s love and appreciation for his entire workforce.

“His dedication to improving the quality of life of all public servants stands as testament to his compassion and commitment to Public Service.

“I want to emphasise with great pride the significance of this celebration. For the first time in the illustrious history of LSPC, we come together to pay tribute to those whose dedicated service laid the foundation for our success.

“This inaugural event symbolises our commitment to acknowledging the remarkable contributions of our retired staff, a commitment to recognising their tireless efforts, and a commitment to celebrating their lasting impact on our organisation.

“I want to express our deepest gratitude to our retirees.

“Each one of you has played a pivotal role in the success and growth of LSPC; your years of service, dedication, and hard work have contributed immensely to the achievements and milestones that this corporation has attained”.

According to him, their commitment to excellent contributions will always be remembered and cherished, not forgetting the relentless efforts of the talented workforce.

“Our accomplishments stand as a testament to our collective dedication and resilience in the face of challenges.

“As we gather here today to celebrate the retirees, it’s also a time to reflect on the achievements of LSPC over the past years.

“Our corporation has continued to evolve and adapt to the dynamic changes in the printing industry. We’ve embraced innovation, upgraded our technology, and expanded our capabilities,” he said.

Peregrine said that the occasion served as a reminder of the importance of a supportive and collaborative work environment.

He said that the success of LSPC wouldn’t have been possible without the unity, teamwork, and cooperation among all employees—past and present.

“The retirees have laid the foundation, and it’s upon us, the current workforce, to carry forward their legacy and uphold the values that define our corporation.” he said.

Also speaking, the Lagos Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotosho, said that in whatever positions we found ourselves, we must endeavor to contribute our own quota.

Omotosho congratulated the retirees.

Noting that the event was a rare event, he saluted Peregrino for the wonderful feat.

A late retiree’s son, Mr Olaide Taiwo, who was at the event to represent his late mother, Mrs Abimbola Taiwo, said that he really appreciated the rare privilege given to his mother.

Taiwo said that his mother retired at GL 07 in the Administration Department, and seeing the corporation reaching out to the family, remembering his mother and appreciating her even in death, was a rare privilege.

He said he was very happy for the corporation’s benevolence and extended his deep appreciation on behalf of his family to the corporation.

Also, Mr Abiodun Aina, said that his joy knew no bounds and that having worked in the corporation for 32 years “this type of event has never happened before”.

Aina said that he had always been canvassing for this type of event before he retired and seeing it come to pass was a thing of joy.

He said that it was laudable for the corporation to appreciate the retirees.
