Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital was abuzz with excitement as Mafis Royal International Hotel hosted its grand opening in a spectacular fashion.


The ancient city came alive with joy as guests from far and wide gathered to witness the unveiling of this magnificent edifice.


The Mafis International hotel Located at Quarry road, behind Nigeria Customs service headquarters has a united kingdom standard serene and conducive environment for lodgers and fun seekers

The event was a true celebration of luxury and hospitality, leaving attendees in awe of the opulent surroundings and world-class amenities.

Notable figures, including traditional rulers, graced the occasion, adding a touch of regality and class to the grand opening. The presence of Oba Tejuoso, the Osile of Oke-Ona, who commissioned the multinational hotel, further elevated the event's significance.

Oba Tejuoso and other taditional ruler's endorsement of Mafis Royal International Hotel solidified its status as a premier destination in Abeokuta.

Guests were treated to a night of glamour and entertainment, with live performance by popular fuji star, Alhaji Sefiu Alao with a vibrant atmosphere.

In her opening speech, the CEO of Mafis Royal International Hotel, Alhaja Mojisola Fowowe, A United Kingdom based business mogul and philanthropist, noted that the Hotel promises to be a beacon of elegance and sophistication, offering unparalleled experiences to its guests.

She said, "With its grand opening, it has firmly established itself as a must-visit destination for locals and tourists alike".

She added that grand opening marked the beginning of a new chapter in Abeokuta's hospitality industry, and the city eagerly awaits the unforgettable experiences that await within the walls of this magnificent establishment.


On his part, Musiliu Alade Aigoro, one of the head , office of the Audit Service Commission, Lagos State Government, who recalled his experience as a lodger in the hotel, Commended the magnificent and exquisite nature of the hotel as a top notch, the world class room service, the sumptuous meal and the well trained staff.

While commenting on the contributions of Nigerians in the diaspora to the development of Nigeria's economy, Aigoro explained that "There is no gainsaying that for Every nation to thrive, you have to improve and increase your capacity in productivity, you have to do things that would employ a lot of the young ones, you can only arrest the restiveness of our youths of nowadays by giving them job opportunities. If they are gainfully employed, we will see a dramatic turn around of our security system in the country.

"She has been wonderful having worked overseas to come down here and establish a business that will create employment to others. I want to encourage a lot of our people that are well to do who have had opportunities to work overseas and have safe enough capital to come back home to set up a business, Nigeria is meant to be great." He added.

He Also Commended the sagacity ,the courage and the governance acumen of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu ,whom he said has been bringing Several changes that are gradually transforming the national economy and enhancing infrastructural development.


Also a respected traditional ruler, the Olu of Imasayi in Yewa North Local Government area of Ogun state Oba Lukman Kuoye Olamilekan said that , "The very first day I came here, I was highly impressed for a Nigerian that is working in the UK and deemed it fit that she should come and invest the proceeds from that country in his home town.

" My advice is that those that are still over there should remember home,"

"Looking at what the investment has done to help the economy, she has been able to generate lots of employment for the youths who earn their living as staff of the hotel, and the hotels have several joints that are conducive for different classes of people." Kabiyesi added .

Speaking on the importance of Diaspora remittance to Nigeria economy, the Olu of Imasayi explained that the Exchange rate is a problem in Nigeria now, saying if Nigerians abroad come home to invest, it will no doubt ease the current challenges, because those that are currently investing their proceeds in Nigeria are already making changes and the impacts are being felt by the people.

Guests at the grand opening who wine and dine with sumptuous meal were entertained by the guest artist, A renowned Fuji musician, Alhaji Sefiu Alao, popularly known as Baba oko.

In attendance were, Traditional Rulers from Ogun and Lagos states which included the Osile of Oke Ona, Oba adedapo Tejuoso, Oniro Of Iro, Olu Imasayi-Yewa, HRM Oba Lukman Kuoye, Oniwoye of Iwoyeland, HRM Oba Makinde Buhari Ololade, Oloja of Oja-Odan ,Oba Oyebanji Adetunji Oladapo among others Traditional rulers.


Others were; Rotary Club members, NUJ members, among other different groups in attendance.

The CEO also used the opportunity to appreciated the Managing Director of Accurratte Hommes Intl, Amb Olalekan Egbetola for his major roles towards achieving great success in the construction of the magnificent hotel.
