Swit up:is laugh and cry a language?. If u go to china and cry as u said, they understands that u are sheding tears but if u tell them to say what did in english, will they say that u are crying?. Do they know the word cry letalone knowing that it means sheding tears. Crying is just an act or action u perfomed and not a language. Is like when u slap sb, yes they know u lay ur hands on sb's cheeks but they don't know it is called "slap". When u meet sb and for instance tell him/her that ur baby is "crying", will the person know that what u mean is that ur baby is sheding tears?. |

Body language definitely isn't one. Rub under your chin with the back of your hand/finger tips: in one place it means you're thinking, in another it's the equivalent of insulting someone. Putting your hands on your head: in some places it implies you're thinking, in others it is seen as lamenting. The "thumbs up" sign: in some places it means you're right/ok/good one, in another it is like cursing someone. An even simpler one that many of us may be aware of: give someone something with your left hand in some places isn't a big deal but it some it is seen as derogatory/rude. So body language/gestures can be interpreted differently according to cultures. |
