Nigeria as a nation doesn't have the culture of bandits, banditry. This is purely foreign to us and it's been exported from other Muslim nations who's citizens doesn't have futures.
When you check this carefully most of this bandit's are not Nigerians, yet they come here to kill and do all sorts as they want because they're utuchable.
Government need to stop this nonsense before Nigeria turn to another Afghanistan. This is how it's started and then you'll see a big terror group in the north, central who will want to control the whole nation because someone somewhere have brainwashed them with religion and politicians are using them to win votes to themselves.

Politicians ie government is still playing with this matter. I see it getting worse as these criminals get more empowered by ransom money. Infact fulanis from all over africa will see naija as the gold rush. They will migrate here to partake in the lush bounty of criminality business in Nigeria.
What must be done now and not tomorrow is to invite mercenaries under the leadership of the south African, Eeben Barlow to come and cleanup the mess immediately. Those guys are getting old, and will soon be unavailable. Their counter insurgency skills learnt in several conventional and unconventional wars is priceless.
Our regular army troops cannot do much as those criminals have the same Ak 47, smg, etc our troops have. What we need is a technological, skills, equipment etc superiority over the bandits.
When goverment was serious during the Jonathan period, we all saw the wonder s those mercenaries performed. Raised an offensive strike force of Nigerian troops, trained by them, armed specially, brought in air power etc. Within 3 months, they recovered land the size of Belgium from Boko Haram.
Goverment should act fast.
