Due to incessant kidnapping and since it seems terrorists and bandits/kidnappers are moving freely with weapons around Nigeria, it is necessary for the police and army to place stop and search checkpoints across the nation.

This checkpoint should be to check cars to ensure kidnapped victims are not being moved, and to check for guns and weapons.

Critical times calls for critical measures. Terrorists and bandits with their foreign and local sponsors have declared war on Nigeria.

Senate must pass a bill and enact death penalty for kidnappers, bandits/terrorists, and any Governor who refused to sign death warrants is an enemy of the nation and people and should be impeached.

It's better to be delayed in a checkpoint than to be kidnapped...lots of bandits and kidnappers associates in nairaland and twitter, they are the ones maligning the police, and the ones against checkpoints, they want the road to be free, so their kidnapper brothers and associates kidnap, kill and loot successfully.

Nigerians there are terrorists and kidnappers in nairaland, do not be deceived, do not play into their hands, support the police, army and support checkpoints across all states, entry and exit points of all states in Nigeria.

Remember a lot of people feed and depends on proceeds from crime, lots of them are on nairaland and twitter, they don't like checkpoint, they hate police and army, because crime is how they survive. By their comments you shall know them.

Check nairaland and twitter, there is a particular group of people, always against the police, army and security apparatus, and statistics have shown that this group are the number one criminals in Nigeria.

Do not play into the hands of criminals online, they want to kidnap you, loot from you and kill you, do not be a fool, support the Nigerian police and army, give them information, they are the only fighting force fighting for you. Give information to police and army, you can give them information via social media and in their information boxes. Security is everybody's business.

Well you right to some extent, may i ask you Sir.....with all the check point in Maduguiri, how come insurgency and kidnapping is on the increase in those areas?

God to the east Owerri as a case study,some corrupt police officer's have turned each check point to a tax collection spot and as well harass innocent citizen who fail to corporate there by leaving the criminals to have a filled day.

We need to increase our air and water surveillance, involve citizens to pass necessary information to aid our law enforcement agency by creating the right awareness (Our national orientation agency is lagging behind), stop inflow of weapons from our borders, enact strict laws as you said against kidnapping finally discourage payment of ransom by the victims to the kidnappers.
