All of una wey surprise that Nigeria is not on the list, are you all normal? Africa is even too much. Only in West Africa (aka ECOWAS), Nigeria is not in the top most visited countries. Cape Verde, Gambia, Ivory Coast and Ghana have more visitors than Nigeria for example. What's there to come and see in Nigeria sef? Please tell me what's there? funshint: Let's be real with ourselves, Nigeria has a high ceiling if only we can harness the beauties nature bestowed on us which could be a good tourist attractions. We have quite a lot across the nooks and crannies of the country which could have attracted huge globetrotting tourists but lack of innovation from our leaders and high level of insecurity won't make the idea of visiting Nigeria look appealing to tourist.Sincerely in an unbiased rating, Nigeria will still have a struggle to fit in top 20 in Africa. |

pansophist: Which means it makes sense to invest in hotels in those countries rather than Nigeria. At least, one gets dollar carrying tourists. Another problem is our visa system. We label every country equal, which is not a good based on economics. We ought to be visa free to countries whose GDP per capita is above $30K. Security and the image of theft are also major problems. We are not friendly people. Most Nigerians are very angry and aggressive. Nigeria has tourist attractions, but many factors hinder their exploration. |

Gerrard59: Yes. Visa access must be eased. Airport must be renovated. The airport thieves that extort passengers must be cleaned off, security improved and tourist attractions heavily invested upon. Nigeria already have cultural soft power in the form of afrobeats for example, we can create something like an afrobeat village, just as Jamaica is the country for reggae, USA for hip hop and korea for kpop. Nigeria don't have animals which western tourist are interested in, but we have the ruins of benin wall, which is the longest in the world. The northerners that tames hyenas and so on. Aba market should be renovated to attract business people from all part of Africa, and the world, just like China attracts all kinds of business people globally. The potential is huge, nigeria is not just ready to develop. We want to, but we are not ready. Talking doesn't develop a country, but doing. We don't do, we just talk. 8 Likes 1 Share |
