It is extremely retarded that some Nigerians believe this Cape Verdi team would have caused our Super Eagles problems. A team with no cutting edge. Dominating possession without anything tangible coming out of it. With the way the Super Eagles are set up in this tourney, they would have easily picked this Cape Verdi team apart. They would have no space to pass around and make inner runs against our well organized and resolute defense. They would have been brutally exposed to the counter attacking prowess of the Super Eagles because defensively they were not very solid. I was just wondering about that before I opened this thread and saw your comment. I did a Google search and it came up with some interesting article links. From what I could gather, basically, majority of the white population in South Africa rate rugby and cricket far more than football. Even golf is given more preference. There was a time there were serious calls for more black representation in these sports as they are largely dominated by Whites. Even at the grassroots, white youngsters aren't being encouraged to participate in football, as their parents and guardians believe 'there's no future' in it. So it'll be a while before we see the next Mark Fish, Eric Tinkler, Roger de San or Andre Arendse...

Every black person in Europe is from somewhere originally. Ian Wright, Viera, Mbappe, Evra, etc have roots in Africa and the Carribeans. Even Christiano Ronaldo is of Cape Verdean descent. That Chelsea white boy wey dey score goals Palmer is of Caribbean descent. The question is what is their nationality? Not what their descent is.

Don’t you see them going back to their roots to play for the countries when it does not work for them in their countries of birth and citizenship? That is what is happening with the players playing for Cape Verde. Most of them are of Portuguese citizenship. Born and bred in Portugal.
