Ivory Coast finally made it to the finals? Wow!

APC should please stay away from this one as it is going to be explosive.

please stop all that playing against a whole nation crap - thats a defeatist mentality

were they not the host when Equatorial Guinea killed them 4-0? abegi leave matter

IF a star studded Brazil could be beaten 7-1 by Germany in the semi finals of World Cup hosted by Brazil in 2014 —/// IF Cameroun can come to Lagos and defeat Nigeria in the finals and carry AFCON away (although na ojoro) - Then Cote D’ Ivoire can be beaten hands down on Sunday

In modern football -home advantage no dey ooo - its 90 minutes on the green grass - so please lets not create unnecessary giants on our way to win on Sunday …

You mind that one. Where was the home advantage or the nation when Nigeria defeated Ivory Coast in the preliminary stage? Nigeria has the advantage and we will beat them again.

This will be a difficult match and the boys will have to be fully focused for 90 mins and possibly ET.

I think the keys to victory will be

1. Being clinical in-front of goal. We should ideally score first, and early if possible. Scoring first will silence the crowd and put the onus on CIV to win. We don’t need to create a lot of chances. Create 3 clean chances and convert 2 is all we need.

2. Remain defensively solid. We’ve only conceded one goal from open play this entire tournament, we need to keep that defensive posture moving forward.

3. No cheap FKs late in the game. This was our undoing against Algeria in the 2019 AFCON Sf and was almost our undoing today.

4. Keep fresh legs in the midfield. CIV will try to choke the midfield with Fofana, Kessie and Sangare. Our boys will do a lot of chasing so we need to use ensure the legs are fresh.

5. Most important thing, keep focused and fighting until the very end.

I think CIV being the host nation works in our favor. The pressure is on them to win in front of their home support. Hence I say if we can score first and relatively early, CIV will have to come out and we can hit them on the counter.

It's going to be a very tough one...

Whatever happens, Coach Peisero and his boys have done pretty well.

Congratulations to them!

Theae boys have earned everyone’s respect

That Hausa player that faked injury just to retuen to his club and started playing after returning to his club would have gotten a medal now if he had stayed with the team

Na so Drogba take miss AFCON gold medal in 2015 thinking Ivory Coast stands no chance to win AFCON

btw if naija is serious right now

they must be very vigilant

From now until Sunday

They players should not eat any food prepared by Ivoriens - they should secretly give the contract to a naija restaurant

Beware of food poisoning issues

They must be very alert at all times to what they eat or drink and who comes close to them

na Africa we dey ooo 😂

Same thing I thought o

. Then go tell him that, his presence is NOT needed.
He would only be a persona-non-grata if he show his ugly face there. He rather remain in Aso Rock sniffing his cocaine in peace.
His presence may even truncate our chances of winning the Trophy.

Final Nigeria 1 - 0 Burkina Faso

But actually South Africa hosted the tournament for the second time, after previously hosting the 1996 African Cup of Nations and Nigeria won it. Stephen Keshi and his boys

Ivory Coast are not the strongest team we have face but they certainly have home advantage, so we can’t take them lightly.

Our offence hasn’t been that good but our defence covered up the offensive lapses.

I hope Nwabali gets a top tier club in Europe after this tournament.

The substitutions the coach made were impressive, especially with Omeruo coming to play the penalty.

Super Eagles, train hard for the final, stay united and finish the job!!! Nigeria is solidly behind you!!!!

That Yusuf was a bad sub. The guy can’t make clean tackle n very aggressive without ball

Since CIV luckily emerged in the group stage, I had a nostalgic feeling of Euro 2004 when Greece won their matches with low margins. They beat Portugal, the host in the group stage and in the finals. I feel that we will win 1:0.

Feelings allowed but in reality Nwabali is conceding 0 goals come Sunday. You can route mile 2 to Abidjan without passport.

By the way, how many substitutions maximum can a team make in a match? Anyone knows the Breakdown?
5 for a 90mins match only, but 6 if it eventually goes to extra time.

🕯️🕯️🕯️for Osimhen to score at least a goal on Sunday. Lord knows his name deserves to be in the list of goal scorers of the tournament. A whole 5 cancelled goals! he would have been in contention for golden boot if he wasnzy't so unlucky sad
