Kano residents took to the streets to protest the high cost of living and the level of hunger in the country. A resident named Alwalu Mai Leda, interviewed by Arise News, spoke in Hausa dialect, which was interpreted in English by the news channel. He stated that a bag of rice in the market now costs around N60,000, making it unaffordable. Alwalu further mentioned that their children are unable to attend school due to the lack of money to pay for their fees, expressing disappointment in the government's handling of the situation.

The youths have vowed to mobilize more youths to join them on the streets to protest the present hardship.

If the president had genuine love for the country nd her citizens he`d resigned since. What`s the point of hoping on hopelesness? What`s the point of holding on to something that is bigger than ur capacity as a man? The president knows he has no solutions to the myriads of problems bedeviling the country but because of the sit-tight syndrom of African leaders he still wanna hang on nd see how it goes. Lemme tell Mr. President and his followers that bad policies will never produce good results. If it can why couldn`t Buhari`s administration fix Nigeria after making very many promises?

Tinubu has floated the Naira leaving it to speculation ( demand and supply) to determine the rate. Unfortunately this policy has undervalued the Naira and the country as a whole. Food items are suddenly cheaper in Nigeria making neighbouring countries buyoff our farm produce since their CFA is by far stronger than Naira for no reasonable reason. Supply did not increase due to banditry and general insecurity so the high demand from neighbouring countries and limited or fixed supply from Nigerian farmers has driven up the cost of food in the Market. Transportation to the market place which relies on fuel bought from international market at a floating Naira value has escalated the cost of Transportation and impacted the overall price of the farm produce.
A combination of all these factors has made life unbearable for the average Nigerian as the price of fuel and food has increased significantly while income and wages remain constant.
Apparently whatever the gain in floating the Naira the disadvantages is obviously threating the existence of this Government and democracy as a whole.
Am sure adequate regulation as well as a clamp down on graft would have been sufficient to peg the Naira as a rate of N150 to $ at the first instance while unsanctioned importation can be peged as a floating exchange rate system to discouraged unecessary importation and give local products a good price advantage
My opinion.

They should go and rest. If Tinubu can reduce our population, it will be good.

I think he's trying to do that through acute starvation. Let's get back to 50 million for a healthy population. Sai Tinubu

Let them continue the protests. Where are Igbo / Itshekiri, Gwari / Ibiobio / Ikwerre / Igala / Okun / Kanuri youths? Are they waiting for Yoruba youths to teach them how to protest?

We the Yoruba youths and adults have been protesting for decades from June-12 up to Goatluck subsidy removal. He have tried our best, let other youths too continue from where we stopped
