Updates on the Al-Aqsa Flood operation presented in this episode of Samri Channel.
Security sources stated that Egypt sent about 40 tanks and armored personnel carriers to northeastern Sinai during the past two weeks as part of a series of measures to enhance security on its border with Gaza.

Egyptian security sources indicated that since October 7, Egypt has built a concrete border wall up to six meters long and topped with barbed wire, built barriers and strengthened surveillance on border sites. The deployment of Egyptian forces came before the expansion of Israeli military operations towards the city of Rafah in southern Gaza, which increased Egyptian fears of the possibility of forcing Palestinians seeking safety to leave the Strip en masse. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had said earlier that he had ordered the army to develop a dual plan to evacuate civilians from Rafah and defeat what remained of Hamas, according to Reuters.

Rafah is the last area where Gaza residents took refuge during the war. Israeli forces are bombing it at a time when the displaced people, who gathered in numbers reaching hundreds of thousands in front of the border fence with Egypt, fear a new attack, while they have no place left to flee to. In this context, Israeli Channel 12 reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Chief of Staff Herzi Halevy discussed a few days ago the continuation of the military operation, and during the discussion a dispute arose between the two over the instructions issued by Netanyahu to prepare and advance towards the city of Rafah.

The channel added that Netanyahu urged finding quick solutions to this issue, while Halevy stressed that the army has a plan, but there is a need for enabling conditions to evacuate the area and coordination with Egypt. The channel reported that Netanyahu claimed during the conversation that time is short and that eliminating Hamas from Rafah must be completed before the month of Ramadan, according to him. Israeli forces are preparing to carry out a ground attack on Hamas in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, where hundreds of thousands who were displaced from the north due to Israeli bombing live in miserable conditions.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said the army had been asked to draw up a plan to evacuate civilians, but aid agencies warned that a military attack in such a densely populated area could end up killing large numbers of innocent people. Washington said it would not support any Israeli military operation in Rafah without giving due consideration to the plight of civilians, and Biden described the Israeli military response to the Hamas attack on southern Israel on October 7 as “exceeding the limit.”
More than a million people, displaced south after four months of Israeli bombing, are crowded into Rafah and its surrounding areas on the border of the coastal strip with Egypt, which has strengthened security measures for fear of a mass exodus. Netanyahu's office said that four Hamas battalions are present in Rafah and that Israel cannot achieve the goal of eliminating the movement's militants while they are stationed there. He added that civilians must be evacuated from the combat zone.

Reuters quoted two Egyptian security sources as saying that Cairo sent about 40 tanks and armored personnel carriers to northeastern Sinai in the past two weeks as part of a series of measures to enhance security on its border with the Gaza Strip.

The forces were deployed before Israel expanded its military operations to include the city of Rafah in southern Gaza, to which most of the residents of the Strip were displaced in search of a safe haven, which exacerbated Egypt’s fears of the possibility of forcing the Palestinians to leave the Strip en masse.
