Lagos Central Mosque has done something special for hungry people in the area. They gave out free yams to help those who don't have enough food.

People in Lagos have been struggling to find food. It's been tough for families who can't afford to buy enough to eat. But the mosque wanted to help.

In a time when many are struggling to find enough food, the mosque is offering hope and relief to its community. Join us as we witness the power of compassion in action, making a difference in the lives of those in need.

The way to go.

The rich and well to do in the society can donate food items to their religious bodies for onward distribution to the indigents amongst their ranks.

There is no better palliative than this.

Well done LAGOS central mosque.

This is good. Churches should start emulating the mosques from the tithes and offerings.

This is good gesture, but for how long will that last? How will yam that can not even be enough for one person be enough to feed moderate Islamic family of four women and plenty children in this hard time? Many Muslims have created more poverty for themselves than what one yam can solve. To those that are richer, please extend hands of giving to your suffering neighbours and friends without minding their behaviour or religion. Help others in times of needs near you

Is that the way forward to cushion the effect of extreme hunger in the country. Government should do the needful and set up plans to leverage hunger in the country

You better don't compare Islamic poverty to that of Christians. Christians help from time to time. It is Muslims that said Mohammed said they should marry four wives and born plenty children in poverty. Don't hide under church to defend poverty in Islam. Christians are not your mates in wealth and riches worldwide. Call Mohammed that told you to marry four wives to care for your families and children in this hard time. Stop hiding under Christianity to defend your Islamic poverty. This is muslim-muslim era

Will they use cooking gas, kerosene or firewood to cook the yam?
Where will the oil come from, then most importantly if this yam finishes, where will they get the next one?
