Months In Islam by AbuTwins: 9:55am On Feb 11
Assalamu alaikum

Today is the first of Sha'aban 1445 AH.

This makes Ramadan just about 29/30 days away!
May Allah preserve us upon good and grant us many Ramadan and beneficial deeds in our account!

There are twelve months in Islam.
Allah says what means:
"Indeed, the number of months with Allah is twelve [lunar] months in the register of Allah [from] the day He created the heavens and the earth; of these, four are sacred. That is the correct religion, so do not wrong yourselves during them..." (Qur'an 9:36)

In Islam, the months are an important aspect of the lunar calendar, and they hold religious significance. The Islamic calendar, also known as the Hijri or Lunar calendar, is based on the cycles of the moon and consists of 12 months in a year each having 29 or 30days!

The months in Islam are as follows:

1.Muharram: The first month of the Islamic calendar. It is considered a sacred month, and fasting during this month is recommended.

2.Safar: The second month of the Islamic calendar.

3.Rabi' al-Awwal: The third month of the Islamic calendar.

4.Rabi' al-Thani (or Rabi' al-Akhir): The fourth month of the Islamic calendar.

5.Jumada al-Awwal: The fifth month of the Islamic calendar.

6.Jumada al-Thani (or Jumada al-Akhir): The sixth month of the Islamic calendar.

7.Rajab: The seventh month of the Islamic calendar. It is also considered one of the sacred months.

8.Sha'aban: The eighth month of the Islamic calendar.

9.Ramadan: The ninth month of the Islamic calendar. It is the most significant month for Muslims, as it is the month of fasting (Sawm), when Muslims abstain from food, drink, and other physical needs from dawn until sunset.

10.Shawwal: The tenth month of the Islamic calendar. It is the month following Ramadan, and it includes the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan. We fast six non-compulsory fast therein.

11.Dhu al-Qi'dah: The eleventh month of the Islamic calendar.

12.Dhu al-Hijjah: The twelfth month of the Islamic calendar. It is the month of the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca, which is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. The first ten days of this month are considered especially significant, and the Day of Arafat falls on the 9th day, which is an important day for pilgrims and non-pilgrims alike.

Let's endeavour to learn islamic knowledge as we learn and progress in our worldly life! May Allah accept all our acts of worship and grant us Jannah!
