It takes our home planet about 365 days, 6 hours and 9 minutes to complete a single full rotation around the Sun. Our star is rotating around the Supermassive black hole at the center of the Milky Way galaxy named Sagittarius A*. It takes the Sun between 225 million to 250 million years to complete a single rotation around Sagittarius A*. In fact, since the formation of our solar system, the Sun has only completed 18 to 20 orbits around the supermassive black hole. Sagittarius A* is about 4.1 million masses of our Sun. However, our solar system is about 26,000 light years away from it. This implies that we are safe from the hostile nature of the Sagittarius A*.
