CareerRe: Are Foreign Graduates That Much Better Than Nigerian Graduates by 7kasali: 2:58pm On Jul 21, 2008
I think  has a point. i just got promoted to a position in my unit at work. At the same time, two expertrates ( with certs from foreing universities) were also employed, at the same level (experience & accademic qualifcn) with me. The funny aspect of it is not just that they are understudying me ( ie i train them on what to do) but are paid 20 times what  they pay me.
Is this not madness?
In bold are some of the reasons they are paid 20times more.

TravelNaija's In Milan Area by 7kasali(op): 5:32pm On Jul 09, 2008
I'm coming to italy in two weeks with my madam. I have been before several times this will be her first time. We are going to be in Milan for a day so she can shop. I really don't care for Milan that much.

Can anyone who is familiar with Milan please tell us where exactly to go to get bargains? I know they have  street market but its only on tues and sat which is not one of the days that we are there.

I know some of you will be like why don't you just go and google it? Correct. I have some information from google but then again, I have been to Naples thrice the first two things based off online information but the third time I met this ibo guy that took me to some places and areas that i was unable to find online except you are local to the area.

If you are local to Milan area, I beg help out !

Thanks.
BusinessRe: Why Aren't Manufacturing Jobs Outsourced To Nigeria? by 7kasali: 10:07pm On Jun 18, 2008
Jobs are not outsourced to Nigeria for one major reason:

Lack of adequate power supply - it will very expensive to run 24/7 generator for a manufacturing plant. And, also Logisitics of accessing North America market from Nigeria might be alittle bit challenging.

PropertiesRe: Why Pay House Rent In Advance? by 7kasali: 4:35pm On Jun 10, 2008
Why do think NITEL, NEPA etc, all went bankrupt? Pay as you go is the best and most efficient form of credit system we have in most african countries. Why do you think the cell phone companies have thrived? if majority of ppl are allow to use the phone and pay at month end its just not going to work. This is not just happening in Nigeria in alot of other african countries too.
PropertiesRe: Why Pay House Rent In Advance? by 7kasali: 2:08pm On Jun 10, 2008
Generally an average Nigerian don't like to pay bills. We had a property that we charged month to month rent in ibadan the tenants always gave us stories each month until we transfered the management to a real estate company and somehow they are able to pay 1 year in advance.

TravelRe: What Is The Best Thing About Growing Up in Naija by 7kasali: 7:58pm On May 15, 2008
i like the way people say stuff like

Bolanle abi what do you call yourself
chukwuemeka or what did you call yourself
babayaro or what is that your name

even though they know your name well well!!
even on nairaland when you can see the person's username
This is classic -I almost fell off my chair at work laughing  grin

One of my dad's friend who knew everyone's name in my household when his brother became a governor then all off a sudden when he comes by uses those exact words - "Bolanle abi what do you call yourself" and also if u go to beer parlours people still do it up till today :-) It happens mostly when ppl get some money in naija

I agree with what others have said - you should but with a date. I went to an ex's wedding few years ago with a hot date, at the reception the new couple were going around tables to say hello she noticed my date because that was the first thing she asked when next we spoke.  grin

My youngest brother just got refused a student visa.

We need to appeal, can someone in the house refer to a good lawyer that can help handle it preferably in Nigeria.

I have read about alot of success stories in regards to appeal in the room.

Thanks.
