Buhari was borrowing foreign loan to defend the naira. Which means he was subsidizing dollars for billionaires who are importers, manufacturers and children of rich who studying abroad while at same time paying fuel subsidies. He was burning the candle at both ends, left, right and center because he did not want to hurt the feelings of Nigerians.

Many people including I didn't know the reason why we had parallel market. But now it is obvious that what Buhari was doing was that he was subsidizing the dollar by borrowing billions of dollars from abroad sell it below market price because of fear of inflation and at the same time he was paying fuel subsidies. While parallel market was selling at 900 naira, Buhari was selling the borrowed dollars at 400 naira

All the billions of dollars borrowed by Buhari are to be payed with crude oil for numbers of years not known to Nigerians.

Should Tinubu continue in that manner?

It's clear Buhari's approach was well-intentioned, but it's not sustainable. Borrowing to prop up the naira while subsidizing both fuel and dollars strains our economy. Plus, those loans need paying back eventually. We've gotta find a more balanced, long-term solution that doesn't saddle future generations with debt. which I believe Tinubu is doing. But he should pivot toward strategies that promote economic stability and growth without making it tooo difficult for the common Nigerian.

I think the reason why Tinubu appears to complacent is because he is hopeful that the refineries will bring positive changes when they finally kicked off

Where was Buhari seeing money? Where is the money we making from foreign exchange going to?

Don't tell me Buhari was borrowing because those borrowed money were tied to something.

How can you be outside a company and stop the company key responsibility? That is what Tinubu did. He was outside the office and stop subsidy.

Who does that?

That is a lie. Buhari's borrowing was tied to infrastructure. Go and check. Look at all Amechi and others did.

With all the looting if he could do it, how much was borrowed?

He should have stopped defending the naira and removed subsides in 2015, and by now, we may have been over the worst.

Better still, he should have supported subsidy removal in 2012, especially when it was clear by 2011 that subsidy costs were eating a large chunk of our revenue. But he sacrificed economics on the altar of politics.

Sometimes, leaders need to take decisions that while it may get them voted out , are the right decisions.

This is the reason I will forever detest Ebele Jonathan.

He did the right thing, but ended up backing out after pressure from this same useless NLC & TUC doing the same thing today.

Tomorrow they will blame someone else for their own actions.
