Good afternoon everyone.
I need your suggestions on how to softly and respectfully respond to my bosses decision on restructuring our working days.

In our annual closing meeting for the year 2023, my boss passively said as a Muslim he was considering closing all his construction site on Friday and replace Fridays with Sundays.
His reason was that he is a Muslim and by extension the company a Muslim company.
So he doesn’t want any work activities on Friday but Sundays is now compulsory.

However since this year we have been working Fridays and staying home Sundays of which he is aware and sometimes often come around to see us working on Fridays and even add certain things for us to do.

Not until last weekend he brought up the idea again of no work Friday and Sunday work compulsory.
And this time he was very serious about it and even went further to say whoever cannot deal with it should walk away.

He has been a nice boss over the years and quite surprised about this his decision.

I need suggestions on how to respectfully tell him that is quite a bit over board and his decision might seem to be a kind of religious intolerance.

We have told him of disadvantages of working on Sundays in terms of getting materials and in case of unforeseen circumstances and emergencies.
You can’t achieve on Sunday what you can achieve on a Friday in construction.
But he seem not to look at it from that perspective.

He is indirectly saying that he no longer wants non-Muslims as employees in the company.

If you are a Christian, leave now because postponing an evil day is very bad.

If you are not a Christian but your concern is productivity in the company, stay and abide by the new rule. If your claim about Sunday duty is actually true, it will soon show in the worker's performances on Sundays and the boss will be convinced that working on Sunday is not good for the company.

Then he doesn't have sense of he refused after explaining the above to him...who is still viewing rest on saturday or sundays as a religious matter in 2024....like wtf is wrong with some pple

Besides their Islamic religion doesn't even have a similar Sabbath day commandments for Fridays..so what exactly is he gunning for?....

Guy see ur Friday as the ur rest day.... go do ur job when ur boss says u should do ur job until u get another job...... end of story

He is the boss.He can do whatever he likes in his company so far it's not illegal.
I see no issue here.
If you don't like to work on Sunday, just resign.

If you see it as an issue quite your job
Sunday is a first day of the week and according to Muslim tradition is for the work day not the sleeping day and if you see it as a threat to you.. you surely leave I don't think anything violet your human wright there
