To help tackle the food crisis in Nigeria, we suggest farmers plant other crops alongside their oil palm or coconut trees. Crops like maize, cassava, yam, melon, and pepper can be grown together with palm trees for these reasons:

1. More Food: Planting different crops means farmers can have enough food for themselves and their communities. This helps everyone stay fed, even when times are tough.
2. Make Money: By growing a variety of crops, farmers can sell the extra produce in local markets. The money they make can then be used to take care of their palm trees, like buying fertilizer and paying for workers.
3. Easy Maintenance: Caring for crops like maize and cassava also helps keep the palm trees healthy. So while farmers look after their food crops, they’re also looking after their palm trees without even realizing it.

By planting different crops together, farmers can help feed their communities, make extra money, and keep their palm trees healthy—all at the same time.

As a Nigerian, Do you think this can help stabilizing the food crisis we currently have in Nigeria?
