JPES Mistakes Cost Us The Final But His Contract Must Be Renewed. by Daejumong(m): 5:03am On Feb 18
Jose Peseiro did well with the team but he kind of goofed in the final .
- Ola Aina should have started on the left just like he did against SA .
He’s got a sweet left foot and is a better crosser of the ball than Sanusi who wasn’t fully fit and was kind of match rusty. This eventually hurt us as he was ball watching to allow Kessie score the equaliser. Also Sanusi never provided any precise cross to Osimhen and he was generally sloppy throughout the match.
- Bright Osayi should have started on the right. He is faster and more refreshed than Aina who was a little bit drained physically and emotionally in the final. He would have contained the gem of a boy called Adingra who punished Aina throughout the man and ultimately the country.
- Iheanacho should have started in place of Chukwueze. Snr man is an experienced player who would have been our Amuneke in the final. He nearly equalised when he came in.
- Osimhen wasn’t fully fit and Napoli reported he played the final with an intestinal virus. He should have been replaced by Moffi at 70 min.
- Onyedika and not Alhassan should have come in for Iwobi. Alhassan is still scarred from the mistake he made against SA and as a new player he naturally played safe against Ivory Coast
But all in all it was a good tournament and we must give the players and JPES their flowers
JPES must be retained and he must continue with his 3 -4- 3 formation slightly adjusted to a 5
-3-2 with A 3 man midfield of Nwakali, Ndidi and Onyeka behind Osimhen and Lookman
We will win the next Afcon and get to the final of the next World Cup.
