It was a moment of celebration and thanksgiving to God Almighty as the council chairman of Edda local government area of Ebonyi state, Prince Ekuma Nkama Chima, dedicated his beautiful daughter amidst celebrations in Abakaliki at the weekend.

The thanksgiving and dedication service that took place at the Christ Embassy church headquarters was presided over by the senior pastor, Mrs. Eunice Oyeyemi, who encouraged parents to always have a reason to be thankful to God for His goodness and blessings.

Special guests at the reception ceremony include the state Deputy Governor, Princess Patricia Obila; the All Progressives Congress (APC) state chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegah; the ALGON chairman, Chief Ogodo Ali Nome; and a host of other friends and associates who came to celebrate with the family.

Prince Chima, while entertaining his guests at the reception, which took place at the Real Exclusive Palace in Abakaliki, said it is important for him to return to God with a thankful heart as well as to seek his blessings and inspirations in the upbringing of the child.

"God is the one who gave us, and we must take the child back to him to say thank you and to hand over the child to God for proper upbringing. As humans, we can't do anything; that's the reason why we have come to call God. Here is the daughter you have given to us; please help us to bring her up properly.".

He said this while praying for the child to grow up and become a shining light to her generation, as well as encouraging expectant parents to hold onto God for such blessings.

Speaking at the event, the state chairman of the APC, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, described the celebrants as a blessed couple that have shown beyond reasonable doubt to be a blessing to their immediate family and community, while praying for the daughter to grow and emulate the good name of her parents.

The mother of the celebrant, Elder Mrs. Grace Ekuma Nkama, who expressed her heartfelt gratitude to God for the additional children in her family between October and December 2023, used the opportunity to encourage couples to always believe in God and perfect his blessings in their home.

His colleagues at the event included Chief Chidiebere Uzor Agwu, the Onicha council chairman, Chief Emmanuel Aja, the Ivo council chairman, Barrister Chinedu Uburu, the Ebonyi council chairman, Mr. Aja Chinonso Consider, the Ohoazara council chairman, and the Development Center Coordinator, Chief Chika Nwangele.

They wished the celebrants a happy child dedication and prayed for the child to grow up in good health and become a blessing.
