Shifting blame has been characteristics of Nigeria and Nigerians especially APC..
Indeed,IMF and World Bank want Nigeria to do away with subsidy but they made it clear how to manage the aftereffects and even went ahead to give Nigeria 800m dollars to cushion the short-term effects..But what next?
Tinubu removed subsidy without putting any plan outlined by IMF in place..
Where's the 800m dollars?
I can reliably tell you that the 800m dollars from World bank and IMF has been looted by Tinubu and his cronies..why blame IMF?
IMF and World Bank talked about repositioned the NNPC..since Tinubu assumed office if I may ask 'how many barrel of oil do Nigeria produce, export and consume? Who are those people benefiting from the subsidy scam, what did Tinubu know about petroleum that he arrogated himself as minister of?
PO talked about modular refinery for local content and consumption when the subsidy is gone
The truth is that you can't remove subsidy from what you are importing because it will mean that a UK citizen whose basic wage is £10/hrs will buy petrol at £1 per litter with his Nigerian counterpart whose basic wage is 1000 naira(£1)per day..
IMF and World Bank did ask Nigeria to remove subsidy but they didn't ask Nigeria to remove subsidy without plan in place or to use remove subsidy as an avenue to looting.
Lastly, Nigeria should asked Tinubu to account for 800m World Bank loan and resign as petroleum minister.

800m dollars won't do much. We need somethingike 40 billion dollars , then we can talk

The government should account for the money though

Subsidy has not gone anyway

If this governement is not ready to address issues of the past (Buhari's regime)

And they are asking us to forget the past......

They are just deceiving Nigerians........

They are here to loot as well, they are removing all subsidies so that they can have liquid cash to loot.

The 40billion is not enough we need like in excess of 900 trillion to cover us totally and not expose us to any kind of uncertainty provided we use the money judiciously and not loot it or squander it on luxurious items as usual

Very well said, people forget that imf is a bank that also seeks profits, i cannot continue to be giving you money without giving advice, if you want change,u must do what it takes to achieve it....
How can u blame imf when the 800 million was used to share palliatives...u remove subsidy without a plan and u blame imf...
