The best communication takes place when both the speaker and listener understands the message being communicated.

In emergency and outbreak cases like this, the best thing is to let everyone know the symptoms by explaining in terms that everyone understands.
For majority of people, aside the malaria symptoms mentioned, the others are such that one will need to google it, then the question is how many Nigerians will or can google other stated symptoms.

May God Almighty keep us safe. Amen

I never thought I meet a foolish lady until I saw your comment. Do you even know if they are southerners that died and you are vomiting rubbish.
This is a military hospital and the barracks is full of southerners yet you begin to talk anyhow.

oga stop misleading people.... If you are sick pls visit d nearest hospital...

I hope you saw Unnecessary in the visitation.

Some of the unnecessary visitations like
1-Visiting a friend who is a health worker .
2- churches having hospital visits teams to pray for the sick
3-curiously, companies and banks sending errand boys / ladies to sell or solicit patronage.
4- Hawking or delivery of food by food vendors to hospital wards or consultation areas like the GOPDs.

The list is endless

Yet hazard allowance of doctors is less than 50 k... And that of legislators in millions

A senior registrar has a
hazard allowance of 40k.
That can not buy the parenteral Ribavirin needed to effectively treat Lassa.

Unfortunately we don't have the scientific and technical know-how to handle critical discovery like this. They may require to take some samples and sent to a well-equipped medical and research facilities abroad for proper diagnosis of the disease and determine the extent of its spread. Times are hard already so we can surely do without adding more troubles to what's presently on ground. Time they acted fast. Now!
