“To ensure fair distribution, we have decided that the elderly and vulnerable will receive the rice free of charge, while others will be able to purchase it at the original price before the increase in the value of the dollar. This will allow us to sustain the initiative until the dollar issue is resolved.”

Tinubu has brought his Lagos mode of governance which is all about destroying institutions and systems which distribute wealth and opportunities and centralising the distribution system in himself by giving handouts for daily living.

Tinubu decided to remove fuel subsidy because he claimed that it is too expensive.

then after removing it, the same Tinubu and state governors are pretending to be spending billions on palliatives to cushion the effect of removing fuel subsidy.

pls what is the economic sense in that?

how is this never ending palliative now different and better than the fuel subsidy they said they removed?

My kind of essential food items are catfish, tomatoes, rice, roast pig , cow leg, snail, yam,shrimp, lobsters, crabs etc

It's a known fact it would go down temporarily undecided

the FG has it way of subsidizing the USD which is not helping but if the Nigeria refineries can start functioning before the end of this year USD might trade between 750-900.
I pity those who bought at 1,800 hoping for the USD to rich 2k + they were just a collateral damage of the war between Naira and USD.
