The usual charade will ensue. The level of corruption in Nigeria will not allow this sort of exercise to make sense.

Let’s hope the commodities are not expired or mouldy. I don’t trust the Nigerian government. The more citizens who die, the easier the work of the government. Too many individuals are a burden on our resources already.
Re: Customs Begins Sale Of Seized Food Items, To Sell Rice At N10,000 by dettolgel: 8:15am On Feb 23
Even if they sell it for 10k when they are done we will go back to the market and start buying it at 70kg plus unless they have infinite supply that they can sale to the country for years.

Why are our leaders trying to solve long term problems with short term solution?

Isn't it the same thing our corrupt pastor of a VP did then sharing money in the market square where did that leave Nigerians after everything?

These guys are demonic they just want to feed the masses enough not to cause riot. grin

They should find a means of making sure that it reaches as many as possible.

And also not sell plenty bags to one person.

And also not sell to politicians, cause, they are the problem of this 🌽3.

After selling a bag of rice at the cost of N10,000 to Nigerians, and Nigerians will turn back and sell it back to fellow Nigerians at higher of N80,000.

WICKEDNESS IN HIGH PLACES.

Good one from custom
Good one? To seize what belongs to others (fellow suffering citizens) and share to themselves and their families? Nemesis will catch up with them

Provided retailers and wholesalers don’t hijack the process and sell at prevailing prices.

Don't bother yourself.
Anything like this from government is not for the masses
Even if tinubu mean well, the system won't allow the masses to benefit

The rice is not even enough for family members of custom officers at Lagos alone not to talk of their ogas in Abuja and politicians who would also be interested in cheap Rice. Then business men and women with large pocket to bribe are also interested. So how do you expect the common man to benefit?

“Some of the items include: Over 20,000 bags of assorted grains (rice, beans, maize, guinea corn, millet, soya beans, 2,500 cartons and 963 bags of dried fish. Others include: Dried pepper, tomatoes, cooking oil, maggi, macaroni, salt, sugar, garri. This trend is not sustainable as it puts pressure on our productive capacity and threatens our food security.
How does it put pressure on our productive capacity when there is an artificial scarcity causing inflation currently in the country?
How do you want farmers to increase capacity when they have to pay tax to bandit to go to farm?

How do you tackle smuggling of farm produce to west african countries causing scarcity and inflation here?

Do you mean Nigerians should die of hunger till production capacity increase to a sustainable level?
