Why Nigeria Will Remain In Big Mess; This is the Solution? by nlreserve: 8:39am On Feb 24
Nigeria is a multinational state inhabited by more than 250 ethnic groups speaking 500 distinct languages, all identifying with a wide variety of cultures. The bolded implies that the three main ethnic groups do not have any relationship. They're all far apart each other. This is the main problem of Nigeria. During the colonial era, the different ways these major ethic groups reacted to the colonial masters defined them. While it was easy for the colonial master to capture this ethnic group, it wasn't easy to capture the other group. This is why Nigeria is made of different people and can never become one. That Nigeria is a multi national state means Nigeria is made up of different nations. The problem started when the amalgamation was done in 1914 by the British.

The effect of the above is that developments in multi-ethnic and tribal countries like Nigeria will always face challenges due to various factors:

Social Cohesion: Ethnic and tribal divisions can lead to social tensions and conflicts, hindering collaboration and trust necessary for development efforts.

Political Instability: Competing interests among different ethnic or tribal groups can result in political instability, making it difficult to implement consistent development policies.

Resource Allocation: Disputes over resource allocation can arise, with different groups vying for control over economic resources, leading to inefficiencies and lack of investment in critical sectors.

Marginalization: Certain ethnic or tribal groups may be marginalized or discriminated against, leading to disparities in access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities, hindering overall development.

Cultural Factors: Cultural differences can lead to challenges in communication, decision-making processes, and implementing development programs that are sensitive to diverse cultural norms and practices.

The summary of the above is that patriotism will always be lacking in Nigeria. The leaders will always fail to be patriotic because they can't see other tribes as theirs. They only work towards developing their own region leaving others behind. They can only be patriotic to their own family and nation inside Nigeria. This mentality makes the region who are not able to produce leaders less developed thereby, causing hatred, anger and agitation.
If another leader comes up from another region, he tends to also satisfy himself and his region. With time, others at the top see Nigeria as a no man's country and throws away patriotism. That's why they're very good at employing tribalism and religion as big weapons of political warfare.

The question is, can we continue like this and what do you think can solve this problem once and for all?
The only solution is to divide the country along region and ethnic groups or restructure the country for regional government.

The corruption is as a result of something.

When president A from tribe A commits and tribe B begins to talk, tribe A would start defending president A accusing tribe B of not talking when a former president B was in power doing same. That's the chain reaction. We are not one!

Nigeria is unworkable. The various ethnic groups the British bamboozled into their colonial project they called "Nigeria" never managed to grow into a nation due to their enthic, religious and ideological differences. The result has been disaster

May be Nigeria might have progressed if it had been run as a loose federation with a weak centre and everyone controlling their resources and progressing at their own pace, but some parts of Nigeria don't want that, ideological differences

So the only choice for Nigeria is to continue this unworkable country that will lead us no where, or agree to peaceful disintegration

Time for appeal is over. Plagues have a way of bending foolhardiness just the way gravity bends light. If I'm lying ask pharaoh. Nizoorians will suffer and suffer and suffer until they call for separation. Did you see the way they are establishing state police without noise? One you'll wake up and see them calling for divorce. God will increase their plagues with each passing year the way a weight adds progressively in a weightlifting contest, until it breaks them.

You are very correct. The main reason for the amalgamation was to make it easier for the British to control their southern protectorate. Initially, theri northern protectorate had nothing in common with their southern protectorate. The only thing common was that the British colonized the two and it would have not been easy to join together if the south was colonized by the french. Their northern protectorate was easier to govern than the south but they had no resources while the south had resources. Nigeria is a selfish project by the British at the detriment of the Nigerians.

Yes, its a gradual thing but it will certainly happen because Nigeria can not work.
