Qatari authorities have declined President Bola Tinubu's request to visit the nation and host a business and investment forum. In a letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday, the Qatari government cited the absence of a legally binding agreement between Qatar and Nigeria for the promotion of investment. Additionally, Qatar's Ministry of Commerce indicated that it had prior commitments on the dates requested by Mr. Tinubu for his visit.

Why is the guy in the middle squeezing and releasing his fingers as if to say " hurry up! I've had enough of this . The handlers of the president needs to up their game, it's not every events or activities the president have to attend in person. He could probably be ably represented @ events like this, the man is not growing younger for God sake.

I can assure u, that we will. I got an idea what he was trying to say, but to have a leader who can not coherently tell you the nations road map on gas flaring "inspires" alot of confidence on potential investors. Nigerian's brace up for impact.

It's a crass display of the incompetence of Tinubu's government.

Diplomatic relations of this significance should have started with correspondence between both parties.

The Nigerian foreign affairs minister would have first met with the ambassador of Qatar to Nigeria telling them of the president's desire to visit Qatar for bilateral purposes.

The Qatar ambassador will consequently reach out to the Qatari government, and if they are amenable, the two countries will discuss the purpose of the visit, date, and other logistics.

If Qatar doesn't agree, the rejection letter wouldn't even see the light of day.

That letter shows a failure of diplomacy because the Nigerian government were not even aware there needed to be an agreement between both countries.

They were not aware the Qatari official in charge wouldn't be available or that they had other events during that period.

Tinubu thinks Qatar is an Owambe party he can gatecrash, but he was bounced before the party even started.

The expression on their faces is just priceless! They all look scared, like they're expecting him to at some point, launch into his infamous ancestral mumbo jumbo. John Kerry couldn't even hide his impatience at a point. So embarrassing that a nation that has produced some of the most intelligent people in the world has such uninspiring leadership. undecided
