Reports have indicated that some traders who deal in grains have began to sell their goods to foreign countries in a bid to make higher profits. The traders decided to sell their goods to foreigners because they had stronger currencies compared to the naira. Below are some countries that traders in Sokoto, Cross River others sell their goods to so as to make more monetary gain. https://gists9ja.com.ng/2024/02/25/check-out-neighbouring-countries-benefiting-from-naira-depreciation/

This is not exactly a bad thing from economic point of view. Why can't we scale up, produce more and take more of their money? 3 Likes 1 Share |

ElSudani:that's because we detest production. What you have is 200m people going and coming(activity) instead of productivity. Instead of seeing it as job opportunities and farm more, we cry because we are not ready to farm. We prefer to collect allocations and buy what few people produce. 2 Likes |

kingmaster2009:You are one of the true enemies of Nigeria because you enjoy seeing others suffer simply because you are illegally benefitting from the wrong policy of your kinsman. If this policy was imposed by other tribe you would have occupied MKO Abiola garden at ojota to protest. 3 Likes |

RepoMan007: Just like the issue of the nurses being restricted from relocating abroad till a certain period of time, when Nigeria should be training more quality nurses and export their skills abroad as they would be remitting foreign currencies back to Nigeria. 1 Like |

This is one of the advantages of devaluation, you make more from exports. Like I will always say, China will give an arm and a leg to have this kind of exchange rate. Rather Nigerians take advantage of this devaluation of making a profit like a country like China would have done, the lazy folks are shouting day and night that they are hungry. Left to me, I would have said that the farmers be allowed to sell to whoever they want to sell to and make a proift...since Nigerians prefer to stay in the city and be unproductive and expect that somehow food will be free for them. |
