The DPO of Abuloma Divisional Police in Rivers State, CSP Ngozi Amaranna(Ngozi Oha Ada) has commended ASP Vincent Akpelu RTD for not telling lies about his real age while serving the Nigeria Police, said it is wrong for public office holders to falsify age to stay long in service.

The DPO stated this in Omudioga on Sunday 25th February, 2024 at the retirement thanksgiving service of Vincent Akpelu RTD who retired meritoriously from the Police after 35yrs of active service. In her words "Vin is my relative, one thing i like him is he didn't tell lies about his age which is good, his integrity is high. It is wrong for people to do so.
He was dedicated and committed to his duties while in service, he always support anytime our community is in need, you will remain relevant". She continued to extol the values of the retiree.

On his part, CSP Masalachy, the commander of C4I in Rivers State confessed that the services of Vincent Akpelu will be missed confirming he is gallant, committed and respectful while serving his father land through the police force.

Vincent Akpelu, the celebrant on his part appreciated all those present at the service to honour him, leaving their busy schedules to be with him for the Thanksgiving Service. Vincent said "Despite retirement, he is open, willing and always ready to offer advise where necessary for the police to succeed in its primary duties". Vincent said he remain grateful to God for his protection in the last 35years.

The event was attended by big names in the community, and in the police force including Dr Charly Igwe, Burser of the Maritime University Okerenkoko, Delta State.
