Police Arrest 10 Suspected Kidnappers, ‘rescue’ 40 Victims In Taraba by ManirBK: 10:07am On Feb 27
The Taraba police command says its operatives have arrested 10 suspected kidnappers and rescued 40 kidnap victims in Yorro LGA of the state.

David Iloyanomon, commissioner of police in Taraba, spoke on Monday during a media briefing in the state.

Iloyanomon said the police partnered with local hunters who are familiar with Gongomaliki mountain where the kidnappers’ hideouts are located.

He said during the raid, the security operatives were able to kill some of the kidnappers.

“We deployed another strategy of using the local hunters and vigilantes, who dislodged them, neutralised some and rescued 40 victims, while police operatives at strategic locations arrested 10 suspects, who were fleeing the mountain,” NAN quoted him as saying.

The police commissioner said one of the victim’s eyes was plucked out by the kidnappers, while another survivor had a gunshot injury.

He said the victims have been taken to the police clinic in Jalingo, the state capital, for proper medical attention.

He added that the police would continue to collaborate with local hunters and vigilantes to ensure the safety of the lives and properties of citizens.

I don’t understand why you people will report a news like this without showing the faces of those evil men kidnapping innocent people undecided. Especially when it’s a rape case, honestly it’s absurd undecided

Sooner or later these evil men will be released and they will continue their evil activities!

Good job by the police, and good collaboration with the local community/ hunters. That's one of the benefits of state policing , because they are on ground and the know the terrain more.

If police is able to sustain these levels of arrest, it will not be long before the issue becomes history. So that farmers can go back to their farms and produce food. Those in IDP camps can return to their communities that it is believed to have been seized from them and travelers can travel without fear.

Police also need to investigate these guys and find out who their sponsors are. I want to believe there is a lot of logistics involved in these kinds of things, there has to be some group of people coordinating them.

I was expecting pictures of the criminals both dead and alive with their locally made pistols which miraculously use AK-47 magazines and pump-action bullets arranged in front of them.

Does it mean this policeman is one of the kidnappers or what?
