**Residents Block Abuja-Kaduna Highway as Bandits Attack Kaduna Community**

Residents of Goningora in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State blocked the Abuja-Kaduna highway in protest following an attack by armed bandits on their community. The bandits attacked Goningora on Wednesday night, resulting in at least two fatalities and the abduction of seven individuals. Infuriated by the incident, residents took to the streets, blocking the Abuja-Kaduna highway on Thursday morning. The protest caused significant traffic congestion, leaving numerous motorists and travelers stranded. This attack occurred just a week after soldiers killed a notorious bandit leader, Boderi Isyaku, and some of his fighters in the same Chikun LGA.

While it is a sad incident, why blocking the highway and causing travelers undue hardship?

Bandits have been attacking other towns like Rujana, Jere, Katari etc, the residents never block the highway. It's the people of G/gora who have such temerity to cause untold hardshio to commuters. Nigerian government doesn't really care about these evaporative protests, better find other avenues to protect yourselves. Strengthen your vigilante and collaborate with security agents. Don't be confrontational with the govt - they have a thousand ways to deal with you
