World Sustainable Development Goals Organization calls for new approach to achieving SDGs in Africa

An international NGO, World Sustainable Development Goals Organization, worldsdgs.org, has called for a new approach in achieving and enhancing the implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals across the globe with a bias in Africa.

The Member, Advisory Council and the Acting Director incharge of Africa, World Sustainable Development Goals Organization, Alhaji Yahya Muhammad made the call during the organization’s weekly TV project on Wtv with the theme: Actualizing SDGs.

Alhaji Yahya who made the call on Wednesday 7th of February, 2024 while discussing goal 3, Good Health and Well-Being on the Television program stated that the implementation of SDGs is very low and not down to grassroot.
“We understand that we have Senior Special Assistants, SSAs, on SDGs to the President, Governor and local government chairmen. But in my own opinion, I think that’s the reason why we are not seeing the required result.

“Now that constitutionally, we don’t have the office of the First ladies, talking about the President, Governors, Chairmen, and all their wives are known for NGO related projects. Why don’t World leaders look inward and create the SDGs office in all these tiers of government to be held by the wives of our governors, chairmen, and the wife of the President with a statutory allocation. This is the only way we can have the required result across the globe, especially Africa.

“These women went out during campaigns just as their husbands did, why then should they be relegated behind the bar after victory? They should be actively involved in governance. There should be all inclusivity”.

While speaking on the organization, he has this to say, “World Sustainable Development Goals Organization was established under the United Nations Article 7 in the UN Charter in 1945 to support the UN’s initiative in dealing with humanitarian issues, UN- Global Goals, issues of crisis, and conflicts resolution.

“We have trained 200 Philippines on website design, we have been doing a TV awareness project on SDGs for the past 2 years in Nigeria, we have also training alot of people on Photography skill, we have done lots of school sensitization projects across all the goals.

“As I speak with you, next month, March 2024, we would be training 500 liberians on digital skill. This is in line with goal 1 of the SDGs. Even the president is aware of the project.

“We are doing a lot perhaps because we are spread across the continents. Our Board of Trustees and Advisory Council cuts across all the continents of the World.

“We are doing well and we will continue until we have a better world for all”, he added.
