Does it mean anytime goverment officials inspect ongoing goverment projects it will make headlines news?

Yes, because it showcases that they are working or do you want them to continue to show they are signing Papers in the offices, while the real works they are appointed to do,to supervise,to monitor and uplift the Masses is being short-change in their
Offices ?
-Many instances abound. e g during Lattef-Jakande and even Fashola in Lagos State -so much lapses were exposed, especially when the Contractors don't know when the Governor will visit them!
-You can see why Hon.Umahi goes to check e g. the Port-Harcourt- Aba Roads recently and the Contractors were met with using sub-Standards items on the Road!
-Most of the Governors are having a field day in their Offices and these don't reflect that they are helping the Masses or benefits the Masse that elected them!
Many of their aides are just not trustworthy because they are mostly Politicians too- corrupt and compromised! So,they( governors )have to go and cross- check those Projects themselves.
Imagine a governor said recently ' that those roads have been completed' but is not so,for those roads remained impassable till now, especially during the raining season ,which will come anytime from now!
We might not blame him, because that is the False Reports- the Contactors have forwarded to him,or the People - collaborating with the Contractors -they gave him but we expect him to send his own Special - Aides,to go and do Independent -Verification and Confirmation before he made such statements, afterall we are talking about Homongous Money for the contracts and the People of the Areas are Suffering! So,is the State going to make another Budgetary Allocation on these same Projects again?
-It can only happen in Nigeria- deceit and dishonest breeds Corruption and this reflects on the Poor Masses in Nigeria!
So,Wike is doing great, you may not like him ,so how we wish Power Minister to be going everywhere - to know that the Masses are really Suffering under DISCOS and the so called Gemco and more Nigerians are experiencing the darkness never than before !
Terribly Sad!

This Wike of a man is trying as a Minister. All he is doing with media round and project inspection and completion is to put himself in the faces of the masses for future presidency seat.

He will have been a better president based on his work ethics but his mouth has killed his national political references rather, he will continue to be a regional politician for life. Presidency he can never smell not to talk of VP.

If you really think about it .... a man like him is needed to run the country at this time to stop it from going downhill. A man with balls ... fearless and a bully to check and imprison the crooks bleeding the country. This road project is an example .... if it weren't for him monitoring the progress and quality of work this project would've even stalled ... too much rain... scorching sun ... fuel price too high ... some excuse would've been made but what would be for sure .... the money would've been all swallowed. They dare not try with Wike..... they fear what can happen.

...EXPLAINS HIS FREQUENT VISIT TO SITES

1. FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike has said that his regular visitations to construction sites in the FCT were to ensure that the contractors keep to their promise of completing the projects by May this year.

2. The FCT Minister disclosed this on Monday, 4th March 2024 when he carried out an inspection visit to ongoing road construction sites in parts of the city.

3. The sites visited by the Minister include the Guzape Lot 2, the Guzape Diplomatic area, and the full scope development of the Arterial Road N20, from Northern Parkway (Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Expressway) to Outer Northern Expressway (Murtala Mohammed Expressway).

4. The Minister expressed his satisfaction with the quality and pace of work on the roads as he was assured of their completion by May of 2024.

5. According to the Minister, “The visit is to go round to see the commitments made by the various contractors, whether they are going to fulfill the promises they have made.

6. “On Saturday, we also had this kind of inspection. Today, we went to Guzape and then we also went to the Diplomatic Area.

7. “And now we are in N20. I can tell you the last time I came here, the work was not up to this extent and I’m very much impressed with what I’ve seen, which shows that Gilmor will hand over this project to us and then we hand it over to the public”.

8. The FCT Minister was accompanied on the visit by former Senator representing the FCT, Senator Phillip Aduda and other senior officials of the FCT Administration, including the Executive Secretary FCDA, Engr. Shehu Hadi Ahmad, amongst others.

Please ensure those roads or whatever it is that look like a board constrictor in the desert there should have drainages on both sides. And we want the back of INEC cleared so that we can build our homes! A hotel called house 19 is sitting on my plot.

If you don't live in the FCT, these pictures will only give you a fraction of the work going on in the FCT now.
At this pace, Wike is likely to match or even surpass El-Rufai's achievement in the FCT.

But you dey Ilorin na. When you come Abuja?

Wike is doing this to gather receipts. Going foward he will tell people that he did this and that. If you believe me there are many Governors especially in the North who did better than Wike in terms of infrastructure during their term but were lowkey. Ganduje for example. Forget the fact that he is corrupt o . Ganduje worked . The Governor of Gombe too.
