In a recent interview on the Mic on Podcast with Seun Okinbaloye, Bello El-Rufai, the son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, expressed his view that President Bola Tinubu surpasses Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate. El-Rufai asserted that Obi cannot be compared to the likes of former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola or his father, Mallam El-Rufai.

El-Rufai suggested that if opposition parties aimed to defeat Tinubu in the last general elections, collaboration between Atiku Abubakar, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and Peter Obi would have been more effective. He emphasized the need for unity among opposition figures.

Regarding online criticisms, El-Rufai stated that he is unafraid of being called out and is prepared to respond accordingly.

lol I am glad you went all over Nairaland searching for my posts. Glad I have given you that job you lack, so to respond to you. I was on government transfer then to akwa ibom and then news which we followed then was anything anti Obi because we were core loyalists to Ngige then even till today when we formed ADC in Atiku house in oba akenzua as then in abuja in 2006/ 2007 with governors boni haruna,jolly nyame, bola tinubu ( I met him one on one twice then) etc …The only difference between that post and today is that I was living outside anambra and following anti Obi news but when I was transferred back to Anambra I did go and verify and saw where he put all the money he saved including the more than hundred billion he left for Obiano etc that did change my mind and impression about him. Anambra used primary school classrooms as LG offices but go and see the mighty structures or secretariats he built in the 21 LGAs in the state . He built roads that connected the 177 communities in the state , won award as the governor that constructed the highest kilometer of roads then, built healthcare centers in the 21 LGAs of the state , built orient petroleum refinery, built the big industrial pack many multinational companies are occuping providing anambrarians with thousands of jobs including sab Miller makers of the popular heroe beer and trophy beer. He never borrowed one dime, left more than 100bn for his predecessor to continue, spent billions from anambra revenue on local small scale companies. The multiplier effect ensured money circulation touched everybody. He made anambra number 1 in education and security etc
