According to his PA , Sola Faleye, just before the ill fated flight , he asked his boss if he wasn’t bothered about flying in a chopper at night and he responded by saying ‘ this is America and he trusts their navigation system’
What are the painful lessons to learn from this :
1) God can speak through anybody to you. Never be too eager to dismiss subtle warnings or advice from subordinates and people generally.
2) God sometimes will not speak to you through your esteemed spiritual fathers, pastors, GOs or imams but through the most unlikely of sources. Let’s be more discerning and never throw caution to the wind.
3) Don’t worship any man of God , they are mortals like you who have their own private challenges and battles and do not have the exclusive access or closeness to God. It’s unfortunate that despite his closeness to the some of the most celebrated GOs in this country, they never saw this coming .
4) Never put implicit trust in Man or any system. The much reputed and trusted American Navigation system unfortunately failed him. Only God can be trusted completed. He is the only infallible one.
5) The church in Nigeria needs revival and also more prayers for the birthing of real prophets who can foresee danger and warn brethren to prevent sad events like this. I know in some churches people are asked to sleep in church for days following a prophecy in church to prevent an impending accident or danger. We need revival in the area of genuine prophecy.
6) Vanity upon vanity, all is vanity. King Solomon with all his stupendous wealth, 1000 women and unmatched wisdom said this popular maxim in the later part of his life after tasting different quality pudenda probably with multiple orgies , had all money could buy and had the wisdom of the gods. He knew that when death comes , everything just doesn’t matter again.
