... security personnel

The incident involving the kidnap of over 200 students in Kaduna State was deliberated extensively at the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday, prompting President Bola Tinubu to issue a stern directive to the security personnel not to pay any dime to the abductors in the course of rescuing them.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris made the directive known while briefing State House Correspondents.

According to Idris, the President has issued a directive to the security personnel to go after the abductors and ensure they rescue the captives and reunite them with their families without paying a dime as ransom.

Recall that over 280 pupils and teachers of Government Secondary School and LEA primary school at Kuriga, Kaduna State were abducted by bandits recently, triggering national outrage.

The bandits reportedly invaded the Kuriga area of the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, shooting at their victims before taking at least 280 students and teachers away.

Believe it or not, it has been ingrained in the mind of the average person in the north in Nigeria in general that kidnapping is lucrative

In other to desensitised the minds of people, a large catchment of the milktary should be intensively trained on covert rescue missions with the mandate that all kidnappers must be neutralised with minimal civilain casualties

I was told ( I don't know how true it is), that one north African country has that policy. If anyone is kidnapped , the govt sends the military to those kidnappers to kill everyone who is involved in the act, that the collateral damage which may result is the price to be paid

Empty orders. They must have given him a dummy assurance he can try rescuing the students when he visited IBB and said yes to Niger Republic rail project.

If unknown gunmen kidnapped you, you're on your own, Tinubu didn't create bandit and unknown gunmen

If Tinubu can do this and even fight the people behind terrorism in Nigeria, he will be the real general. Even Buhari who called himself a general who specialises in winning war and a military strategist failed. Honestly, I don't understand how Buhari became a general...as in that is a general who protected about 70 million Nigerians in the 80s? Come on. We have better brains. Nepotism has killed Naija.

Even Jonathan failed in the area also. So, if Tinunu succeeds, hmmmm. I reserve my comment for now.

This is why they should cancel nysc . How they carried 280 students still baffles me.

The security forces should encircle the radius of the abducted children . Arrest anyone in sight gradually reduce the radius till the bandits giveup. This should serve as an example to future kidnapping.

But Tinubu told Nigerians that Buhari was Nigeria's only solution to all its economic and security challenges.

based on what you are saying about Buhari, did Tinubu lie to Nigerians or you are lying against buhari?

how will Tinubu succeed?

North should continue their madness in their region.
As long as it remains in the north, nobody cares again.
North wants to use insecurity to discredit Tinubu govt as they did against Jonathan.
Tinubu govt will not fall for that gimmick, when they are ready they will release their brothers and sisters they're hiding

Kidnapping 280 pupils from a school at once is unthinkable how were the children moved out of the school. What were the military doing that they could not track the pupils.
