And the 25 people who were rescued will now become Italian citizens. What a gruesome and unfortunate lottery to play.

By the way I have been told that Libya is very ok these days. Can’t these people try staying put for a while and gather some money so they can travel like actual human beings for crying out loud
there is no citizenship for them.

Nature ensuring only the strongest of migrants make it to foreign soil. This is the transatlantic slave trade all over again. The difference is, we make the journey willingly.

No be small death I count for road.

Comrades .. the sea isn't calm, prepare well.

Adios
I regard anyone that embarks on such a journey (regardless of the outcome) as being suicidal. The risk isn't worth it

Very disheartening, this Mediterranean sea has become migrant cemetery, all because of desperation

What desperation?

You mean STUPIDITY, INFERIORITY COMPLEX AND IGNORANCE?

These people paid THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS to get on those rickety boats.

They are not poor people.

They are ignorant people with more money than sense.

If you have thousands of dollars, why would you embark on such a foolish, dangerous escapade?

Trying to enter Europe ILLEGALLY on a rickety boat that could sink any minute?

You are just plain stupid.

You can use those thousands of dollars to start a highly profitable business here in Africa. Put your head down, and within a few years or even months, you can comfortably apply for a visa and fly anywhere you want on vacation.

But someone has told them that they are inferior for being black in Africa, and that there is no option but to run to white countries where money falls from trees, even illegally if necessary.

So it is not desperation. It is GROSS STUPIDITY.

DropsMic:
During the transatlantic slavery our ancestors were dragged into ships and taken to the white man’s land to work as laborers. Today, because of poor leadership, their descendants risk their lives on rickety boats to reach the same destination.

Even after more than 500 years, nothing has changed. The black man really is something else.

UTTER NONSENSE.

This has NOTHING to do with the ''black man''.

This is about individual thoughtlessness and stupidity.

There are over 3 million Indians living in the UK, and 10 million Chinese in the US.

Migration is a fact of life.

But STUPID migration, where you sell all your properties or find thousands of dollars, and then use that to jump on a rickety boat to CROSS THE OCEAN and enter another country illegally.

You have nobody to blame but yourself, if and when something goes wrong!

The only difference between this Mediterranean misadventure and plain suicide is that the former is just more constructive. They most often end same way.
