Let try to appreciate good things if you see one.

How is Nigeria a failure here??

Second out of 25 nations.

What are the sports Egypt got 72 gold medals from?
The gap from 1st to 2nd place is so much. They should send Egypt home already. No country can catch up with them if they leave now.

Don't mind the nitwit. India with over a billion people don't even see 20th position in Olympics. These ones always look for opportunity to curse the country

What a disgrace!

With >200 MM pple, we still manage to trail Egypt by >60 medals (>50 in gold category) and some are even celebrating this.

The height of mediocrity! Useless nation. angry
India and China should be winning Olympic always then based on their populations.

Not because Nigeria won more medals but because it won more gold than Algeria and South Africa.

Just like the naira

The original ranking of Nigeria is 4th but gold speculators kept the rank at 2nd.

Just 1 gold each for Algeria & south Africa will return Nigeria back to it original value
Re: African Games: Nigeria Maintains Second Position by aremubabs: 6:41am On Mar 15
We will still end up behind Algeria and South Africa.

Just one gold difference, and they have far more medals in total than us.

They have managed to almost catch up with us, and they would, eventually, because the way they quickly closed the gold medal gap can only indicate that they will eventually overtake us.

They are counting in gold medals won not silver and bronze. Aggregate medals doesn't come to play.

Why can't we be the first?
Re: African Games: Nigeria Maintains Second Position by PHAYOL81: 7:56am On Mar 15
Egypt seems to be a run-away winner here but Nigeria should try to bridge the gap. Even at second, the performance can still be better.
By the way, kudos to all the athletes who are making the country proud outthere. They're the MVPs.

That is the statistics, pay attention to the gold. You can't have 10 Toyota Corolla and i have only 1 private jet and you claim to be richer than me.

I like this analogy

And we over took the country with 80+ may be due to the class of the medals.

You contribute nothing to the development of the country. You sit down in your house criticizing everything, calling your country a useless nation…indirectly calling yourself a useless citizen of a useless nation. What is wrong with all these unpatriotic elements that someone is sharing the country with?
Nigeria is so unlucky to have many unproductive, unappreciative citizens .
Kudos to those guys representing us. They did something. You too do something with your life and stop whining like a baby.

The last time I heard about the All Africa Games was in 2003, when Nigeria was the host. Billions of Naira was spent by the OBJ administration, including for the construction of the National Stadium Abuja. The reportage of such games should in the level of the recently concluded AFCON. AAG features all African countries, while AFCON does not. The organisers need to do better

Las Las na 5th or 4th we go finish.

Nope we will be finishing second

South Africa and Algeria is still trailing us because the sports at the moment are the ones Nigeria are not best in

Once athletics starts, Nigeria will gap them

Egypt too will slow down
