The Okuama and Okolaba communal crisis that led to the gruesome murder of Nigerian soldiers has brought to the fore, the discussion about various non-state armed groups currently operating in different parts of Nigeria.

We have Banditry and Boko haram in the North, Unknown gunmen in the East, Criminal armed community youths, kidnappers and Militants in the South south...
But the South west, with it's enormous solid minerals and even presence of many foreign illegal miners, doesn't have any insurgency there....

They've done their bits pre colonisation and realized their mistakes. For not nipping in the bud, some towns became desolate and the survivors migrated to faraway land or to set up new towns

There's oh! How about criminal skull miners, is that not insurgency on it's own?

Which one is criminal skull miner again?
We are talking about Armed Non-State actors/ militia groups, not individuals who are still foolish enough to believe in money rituals/skull mining.

Have you ever heard of criminal skull miners killing soldiers, DPOs and removing their hearts and beheading in the South west....

Have you heard of criminal skull miners declaring sit at home in South west like the unknown gunmen in the east, and also killing law enforcement agents..

Have you heard at anytime of skull miners in South west going to villages in South west to collect taxes from farmers like the bandits in the North.

Have you heard of skull miners in South west going to schools to kidnap the children of their fellow kinsmen for ransom like the bandits and Boko haram of the North...

The way communities in South west operate, insurgency cannot flourish there.. there may be few attacks from outsiders, like the Owo church massacre and fulani herders attacks... but you will never see South west forming militia groups that will be killing, kidnapping, beheading fellow kinsmen and law enforcement agents.....

When will people like you ever grow up, look yourself in the mirror and aspire to copy good things/people that can help.you become better?

OP is talking about many organised in a group as militia-type entities and you dumbly talk about skull-mining which is a crime done by individuals mainly.

You might as well compare yahoo boys and pickpockets to IPOB and Boko Haram then. The point you should note and learn from, if not from the region, is how laudable it is the SW does not have a single armed militia or terrorist group in it's rank.

If the rest of Nigeria had the sophisticated disposition of the Yorubas then our nation would be much better. For me this is another proof Yorubas need to move away from other Nigerians because it is crystal clear they are on another level of civility, tolerance, conflict resolution and civility to the rest of you.

Bro, the Yorubas are the most sophisticated and humane people in Nigeria by far. Simple as that. The ugly truth is that Yorubas, comparatively, are living with repellent savages all for the sake of "one Nigeria".

It is never a good thing, perhaps even the most fearsome development in the world, when a group of people can organise themselves into an outfit that willingly engages in extra-judicial killing. That's the stuff that leads to genocide, anarchy and total breakdown of society.

Yoruba civility means they are far above that barbarism even though same cannot be said for other Nigerian ethnic groups.

This is why I am personally a big fan of regional governance that will allow Yorubas use all their good quality to create a great and progressive region for Omoluablis to live in.

Yorubas are tired of wars and crisis.

The longest intra tribal war in Nigeria was by the Yorubas and it lasted 15 years at the end of which a peace accord was signed and since then Yorubas have pursued peace and peaceful living only.
Early exposure to western education and development made yorubas channel all their energy towards human capital development which lead to Socio political development.

Nonsense.
What civility? Who are the major beneficiary of this fraud called Nigeria? You saw my post as something to salivate and press forward the notion of the sophistication of your people as the reason for the lack of insurgency in your region, but let me educate you on what you don't know, Your thinking that other regions that have militias are backward shows that you are an educated illiterate. What do you know about the relative deprivation theory? If your people are made to go through half of what the Igbos have gone through in Nigeria, the west would not be different from Haiti. If there are people who want to get out of this contraption called Nigeria, and who have been consistent about it, you know it's the SE. So forget your 'copy good things that would help you ' rubbish you posted above because if you have not worn the shoe of others you don't have what it takes to judge them.

You are missing the point Bro.

Can you give us any evidence of Armed militia groups in the southwest, formed by southwesterners, kidnapping southwesterners, beheading and ripping hearts of soldiers, policemen, sacking villages and collecting taxes from South west farmers before they can farm.

If you have evidence for this in the last 15 years, please enlighten us by sharing links to evidence or news about things like this in the South west.

Remember that Chinese, Gambian, Senegalese and some top powerful Nigerians are also exploiting southwesterners solid mineral resources too, usually guarded and protected by law enforcement too.....
Even recently, South west monarchs were kidnapped and gruesomely killed by some elements.
This should have been an excuse for SW youths to carry arms, but they didn't go that route because of their thinking system and societal structure.
