If one of the biggest banks in Africa that just acquired a big Kenyan bank is not doing well in South Africa, then maybe your economy is shitty.

It's not a flex if foreign investors don't do well in your country.

Nope, not entirely true! The investment of these companies creates jobs for Nigerians, MTN can close shop in Nigeria and set up somewhere else and still be successful.
