And when the main Olympics start, how well has Egypt performed?

You're always winning in Africa but don't even come top in the Olympics when rating African countries at the event.

Good performance by team Nigeria.

Some room for concern though

1.Athletics. IN 1991, in the women's side, we had a 1, 2, 3 finish in 100, 200 and 400m. Today, it's no longer possible

2.Male football is basically terrible as usual.

Team Nigeria ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌ had a great outing in Ghana, finishing 2nd in the overall standings๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘.

Side-note:
Egypt ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ฌ 1991
South Africa ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ 1999
Nigeria ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌ 2003

Surely, hosting & winning the African Games is not for everyone๐Ÿ˜’

My highlight from the Event is Nigeria winning Gold in 4x100m relay men, 4x100m relay women and 4x400m relay mixed

The 2023 All African Games which began on March 8 in Ghana has come to a close with Nigeria finishing overall second with 47 Gold, 34 Silver & 40 Bronze medals.

Team Nigeria led in the Athletics event with 11 Gold, 6 Silver, 5 Bronze medals and Boxing category with 8 Gold, 2 Silver, 2 Bronze medals.

Like in the All-African Games in 2015 and 2019, Nigeria finished second-best to Egypt with host Nation Ghana, out of the top 5.

Congratulations, Team Nigeria

Dear Sport analyst on nairaland please help us out with the following
How many sport or event did Egypt participated that Nigeria didn't?
By my calculations there is differences of 55 gold between Egypt and Nigeria to me that is like Egypt 1st and Nigeria 10th
The only fare difference is the bronze 42-40.

Egypt won many of the events, Wrestling, weightlifting, esp in the male categories... These events carry many medals unlike Athletics where we always do well.

Do you know that they struggle to come third in the general Olympics when rating African countries?

But Nigeria own dey worst o. Sometimes we come as low as 8th in African ranking.

Lol Population have nothing to du with this I don't know how you guys thinks....

Wether you're 40billion in Population and your opponent is just 12million in population you've the same slot....

All you need to do is figure out the best among you to represent you.. You can't pack all ur population to represent you....
You refused to see it from his own perspective.
The more populous you are, the more options you have.

This result between Egypt and Nigeria is a testament that something is wrong with our productivity level and/or our sense of judgement despite that fact that our population double that of Egypt, our best could not deliver more than the Egyptian best in terms of quantity (number of medals) and quality (type of medals)

Population has nothing to do with it.

Blacks in the United States are just a little above 40 million, and that is 13% of the US total population, yet the Blacks make up the bulk of the US athletics team which has dominated Olympics Games medal tables for centuries.

There is something called general population, and then there is another one called specific population.

Nigeria has about 107 million youths. As a football scout, you cannot say your options number 107 million. The number available to you are the youths playing football, out of which you must select the best who can compete internationally. By the time you do your scouting, you may not have more than 500 very good athletics to pick from.

The specific population is the population that interests the scout. This is the population of those actively participating in one game or the other. Mostly, these people are found in our universities or the police force.

Many of our youths are rather engaged in other professions. So, you can't say because we have 105 million youths, then we have more options.

The question is: "How many of these 105 million youths are sporting prospects?"

Omooooooo, Egypt carried them Asia handicap ni oooooo. Wetin be Egypt population sef

Egypt is the 3rd most populated country in Africa.

Cairo is also the third most populated city in Africa currently.

Population has a lot to do with winning medals in Olympics and All Africa Games.

That is why you see that USA / China / Russia are usually the winners of Olympics.

Also, All Africa Games has always been a tussle between Nigeria and Egypt for a long time.

Don't let anyone deceive you.

The main question is "Why are many of these 105m youths DOESN'T have sporting prospects??" That deeply answer your question above.

Lol that's not how it works if that's it India for dey lead in everything....

When they say 10 heads are better than 1 there are some 10 heads that 1 is better than....

See for instance in our Soccer let's say the country split today presently how many Northerner do we av or performing well in Super Eagles...

With North population why can't dey dominate the Super Eagles....

Things don't work by Populations....

With USA populations or UK they still make use of immigrant that turn citizens to represent them if dey can't find what they want in dere indigenous citizens and they see is an immigrant that can give them what they want they will opt in for you so do you want to tell me they don't av enough population...

No matter your population just know you can't excel in all sport you Can see America Team when it comes to Soccer Football because isn't there thing they hardly enter quarter final....

So what matters isn't the population but how you can figure out the greatest among you...

You are very wrong sir.

Swimming, gymnastics and related events are very many in the Olympics and All Africa Games. Blacks don't have relative strength in these sports because of the rigidity of our body and bones structure.

Please accept that our bodies are not as flexible as the whites.

In games of physical strength, we dominate always.

It is the area of their strength. Except the composition of the games are changed, even if we invest $100m in the training of our athletes, Egypt will come out tops.

We are lucky South Africa does not have much population, they would have overtaken us in second by now.

Big ups to out athletes. They did well.
Why can't we get swimmers from the Niger Delta? We should be able to compete in swimming competitions.

Don't tell me there are no blacks that have very flexible structure (even if their population is very few). The question remains "what are they doing with their uncommon flexible body structure??"
