UEFA will permit Manchester United to participate in the Europa League should they qualify, despite Sir Jim Ratcliffe remaining the owner of Nice.

According to UEFA's new regulations, teams owned by the same proprietors will not be permitted to enter the same competitions. This implies that under such rules, United would have been ineligible for Europa League participation next season, as their new co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, holds the majority share at Ligue 1 side Nice.

Erik ten Hag's squad currently holds the sixth position in the Premier League, and if they maintain this standing, they will secure qualification for the Europa League. However, Nice also occupies a similar position.

In such a scenario, Nice would have been granted entry to the competition, given their higher league position compared to that of the Red Devils.

Nonetheless, the Daily Mail reports that UEFA General Secretary Theodore Theodoridis attended the league clash between United and West Ham at Old Trafford on February 4.

Following the match, Theodoridis purportedly engaged in discussions with the English club and assured that the matter would be addressed.
