Court Discharges, Acquits Ex-AGF Adoke In OPL 245 Trial by Man102: 11:35am On Mar 28
The FCT High Court has dismissed the charges of fraud, bribery and conspiracy filed against the former Attorney-General of the Federation, Mohammed Bello Adoke, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Ruling on the β€œno case” submission made by Adoke, Justice Abubakar Kutigi said the EFCC failed to prove its charges of fraud, bribery and money laundering and ruled that the defendant has no case to answer.

He discharged and acquitted the former minister on all counts.

Sad. Very sad.

Between The EFCC and Judges I don't know who to blame.

It is clear Adoke was very corrupt, but this is sad that he is going scot free, anyways Appeal court is loading

Our Judiciary need to be strengthened and reformed. They need to earn our trust they have lost 😠 very many years.

Once the Judiciary is fixed the country is fixed.

EFCC's core strength is raiding and prosecuting petty yahoo boys...

When it comes to the real fraudsters, corrupt government officials and politicians, EFCC never have concrete evidence to nail them in court. All EFCC does well in this area is media trial, before or after the court rules.

Shame!

Blame everything else including EFCC and Tinubu. As long as you can buy justice in Nigeria, you do not need to run away like Allison Madueke. ALAMSCO and Ibori were welcomed as heroes in Nigeria.

Dey play u hia

A very basic principle of evidence even a jambite intending to study law knows is "he who alleges must prove".

You can't just make spurious allegations without commensurate evidence to back it up or well except in this case, efcc was compromised. We know how most of these trials are politically motivated, plausibly, the efcc that made the arrest is different from the efcc that prosecuted and adduced evidence in court, if you know how I mean.

Anyways, happy Easter to the former Honorable Attorney general.

This is a judgement that may truly lack justice it deserves.

Tell me how Nigeria can make any progress with this type of justice system? They are discouraging the EFCC from trying cases like this. There is no way that judge can convince me that EFCC didn't make their case. This is just the usual excuse to get powerful people off the hook. Corruption!
