From the 19th, you start 'tahajjud' which, by the way, is a highly rewarding act of worship.
As we all know, acts of worship have conditions. I advise us to consider these:

1) Tahajjud is a naafilah (supererogatory act of worship). Don't observe it such that it affects your fajr salaat which is mandatory, thus by far more rewarding than Tahajjud.

2) You can perform Tahajjud with one surah alone and that would conform with the sunnah. Khatmah isn't at all a necessity. Perform it with tranquility, calmness, proper recitation with tajweed.

3) Sometimes, perform five raka'aat with one sitting, sometimes seven raka'aat with one sitting, sometimes nine. Don't exceed eleven raka'aat.

4) Try to prolong the rukoo' and sujood to be almost as long as the qiraa'ah.

5) If the Imaam is a haafidh, there is no need for the ma'moomeen to hold the mus'haf, unless you are charged with correcting the Imaam and you aren't a haafidh.

6)If you can lead your family at home, it would suffice. If you take your family along, however, make sure your wives and daughters are property dressed and behaved while there.

Considering the fitnah in our present days, it is better for father's to either lead their families at home or find a haafidh to come home and lead them.

7) Do not raise your voice as loud as to disturb your neighbours' sleep/concentration.

Do not block any public road/passage, as that will make you a nuisance!

9) Seek reward with Tahajjud, nothing else.

Do your du'a alone throughout the whole last ten days!

Except in Tahajjud which can be congregational!
