Excerpts:
"The IMF is asking the government to remove fuel subsidy in its entirety and also increase electricity tariffs. Whereas in every society there's no country in the world that does not subsidize one product or the other, even in the most advanced capitalist societies. This is why Nigerians must begin to ask the government to discard and jettison the deleterious(harmful, detrimental) programs and policies of the IMF and world bank

Just last month, the IMF was accusing the British government of not investing enough in education and health; these same institutions are asking our government to remove all subsidies and impose a rash of increases on goods and services in our country.
The only economic body recognized by the constitution to advice the president is the National Economic Council; why has that body abdicated its responsibility to the IMF and World bank?
Majority of the members are elected, they must advise the president based on what the people are saying, based on their demands.

The IMF and world bank was set up by imperialism principally to destroy the economies of developing countries, they turn the other eye when western countries are giving subsidies to their people.
The IMF should be interested in the $3.5 Billion loan it gave to Nigeria that can not be located and stop mounting pressure on government to multiply the hardship of Nigerians.

Section 16 of the constitution as stipulated that the government of Nigeria shall be under a legal obligation to plan and run the economy of Nigeria to promote happiness and not sadness as it is the case now.
This wonderful country has enormous and natural resources if well husbanded we should have no business with poverty."

Stop blaming IMF.
It has the freedom of speech and can say whatever it likes as it always do
to countries seeking loan from it.

The blame should be placed on the person implementing the so-called advice.

Sir Falana is absolutely right.

Where is the excess billions saved from fuel subsidy removal?

Stop giving it to governors and ministers, subsidizing electricity is the only way government can affect all Nigerians positively... what else do Nigerians enjoy in this country?

Electricity has been removed from the exclusive list, let the states where the electricity is been consumed pay the subsidy on tariffs.

Why was it removed from the exclusive list when the federal government can actually help the majority of the people by providing subsidized constant electricity for homes and small businesses?

I have never for once seen where the IMF advised the government to stop its official from hiding looted funds in the west..

Because it's in their interest for these stolen money to be kept back in their vaults..

You gave Nigeria 3.5billion dollars in loan and that money disappeared (stolen) immdiately it landed, and your concern is removal of subsidy..🤔🤔 and the government of the day desperately looking for validation from international communities is swallowing everything hook line and sinker.. it's a shame..

So what does FG do with all the VAT and sundry tax revenue it generates?
What does FG do with all the royalties and crude revenue?
What do the Nigerian citizens get from FG?

Please stop supporting those people.

They didn’t save any money from the last subsidy removal because of inflation. Road construction that was formally 50b is now about 100b. I can best my chest by saying that there is no governor in Nigeria that can build new quality road of about 20km unlike in the past where they can build road and schools. Even to pay salaries is now a challenge.

I have said this before that an increase of the burdens of the Nigerian like subsidy and it economy will fight back and that money they tried to save will end up a waste after destroying the economy with inflation.

1b last year is like 2.5b this year.

Air conditioner of 300k last year is about 650k this year. Now tell me how can the government save anything from this? Literally they saved but the money was been eating by inflation.

Similar thing will happen to electricity. When buhari increases it they said it’s for the rich area. But today its everybody. Increases electricity will further increase goods and services. Nigerians will not notice any improvement as usual. Inflation will be over 400% this year again. Bread will enter 3k before 3rd quarter. Hotels and bars increase prices, frozen foods increases by 300%

What has your state government, been doing with all the monies it has been collecting?

The states were the electricity is consumed, should pay the subsidy on the tariff.

Both FG and state have responsibility, it's better for you to ask the states rather than countering me and being a devils advocate for FG. As a citizen base on the luxury life of FG political office holders, governors, ministers etc, your job as a smart citizen is to demand from them... after all what are they doing with all the revenue, we hear of the big figures everyday.

Is public revenue for politicians alone?

What about welfare, subsidies, concessions for the good of the people?
