If custom could generate 1.3tn within Jan to March, imagine the cost of items/products bought and shipped in to the country. Imagine the cost, just imagine

When they say Nigeria is import country, this should give you a clue why we're still far behind

Bitter truth. As long as Customs keep generating lots of money from import duties, then the country will continue to be underdeveloped because it means we are just an import nation

Highly impressive figure and I hope they even generate more.

We have to strengthen fiscal tax to generate taxes for our infrastructure and security.

We need big projects to fix; student loans, scholarships, roads, power grid, ports, railways, etc.

God bless PBAT.

God bless Nigeria

Are you serious? Nigeria needs to answer this simple question. Is the Country's Custom a revenue generator branch or a service provider? For the life of me, I just can't imagine the US government ever considering any port being a revenue generator. Any revenue generated is an indirect tax on the consumers.

Exactly my point. It will even be better if the money being generated is put back into improving the port facilities, but alas it has all been put into maintaining the ridiculously bloated cost of governance. All this in a country that spends 70% of its revenue on governance.

All these inflows, yet the people get no subsidies, welfare or concessions...the wealth of the nation is not meant for politicians but for the people.

Nigerian politicians live like Arab sheiks while the people get nothing...this is wickedness that I see under the sun.

You keep making profit on the masses. Tinubu government is just annoying.

Imagine increasing electricity tariff so as for genco to procure machineries to improve electricity to 20 hours.
Who be the investors?

God bless Nigeria because the government through Customs is making you pay more for imported goods?
What is the government doing with the increased revenue to warrant your applause

Some people are rejoicing for the huge revenue but for every goods you buy(imported) you must pay tax indirectly.
Eg, phones and accessories, packet and all type of fabrics, polythene, just name it...

Thunder fire una. Generate this and that yet Nigeria is still poor

It’s a failure strategy. Generating income most times also points to too much importation.

Imagine GSK leaves Nigeria, but still has her products selling in Nigeria. When they ship their products to Nigeria, they pay taxes. This taxes make custom look good, but in the down line, it weakens our Naira and makes our people jobless.
